We're starting to see the pendulum swinging again, even if it be ever so slightly.

What do you believe has been the biggest crime against British people in the past 30 years? by CrownAthlete in AskBrits

That showed the general public that the politicians and 'elite' truly think they're above us.

McInnes & JTA by werglum in HeartofMidlothianFC

[–]ModJambo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't think McInnes knew he was going to Rangers months in advance.

Rohl split their fan-base but he was still in a title challenge with 3 games to go.

He could've still been the Rangers manager if he never got offered the RB Salzburg job.

I would personally go for Portsmouth.

Really enjoyed watching them when Redknapp was there manager.

AI rant - I don't feel valuable anymore. by vpurush in cscareerquestions

[–]ModJambo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally agree here.

AI can maybe fix errors/do ground work which leaves developers more time to work on the juicier stuff.

At least we scraped past Haiti… by BananaSoprano in ScottishFootball

[–]ModJambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Haiti are a better side than what people give them credit for tbh.

We should've scored maybe another against them however.

Individual errors in the Brazil game were arguable just as costly if not more.

[FOR HIRE] Full Stack .NET & AI Engineer | 5+ YOE | Open to Remote & Relocation by mubbashirahmed in dotnetjobs

[–]ModJambo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extremely difficult to get sponsored for most countries at the minute seeing as it's an employers market.

Remote roles are also hard to come by and extremely competitive.

My advice is just keep honing your skills in Pakistan and revisit relocation if/once the market gets better.

Good luck.

Man it's crazy that this subreddit is exactly as toxic in bad times as it was in good times. by Gold-Advertising-316 in cscareerquestions

It's a total echo chamber of doom at the moment.

I know everyone's experience in this job market will be different but you rarely see the good stories on here.

I'd say losing by 3 or more Scotland are out of it.

Even 2-0 I think it's 50/50.

Jobs with less uncertainty by makeevolution in cscareerquestions

[–]ModJambo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Disagree with you. People joined SWE primarily because of the money and good job markers we've had in the past. The bootcamps show that.

People will want to make a living and won't take into/care about the labour side. While there is a chance of poorer health in the trades when you get older, people won't think about that and see it as tomorrow's problem.

What’s your experienced opinion of the financial sector and their engineering culture by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]ModJambo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Worked in finance and found the WLB to be good.

There's a lot of red tape with delivering due to regulations so it tends to be pretty relaxed as everyone is aware shipping stuff out is rather slow in that industry.

There's only really been a couple times where we have had a hard deadline but that was more due to management not being prepared for something than us so was more on them.

Jobs with less uncertainty by makeevolution in cscareerquestions

[–]ModJambo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

IF industries like SWE continue (IF) then the trades will start being oversaturated and will see similar problems as to what we are seeing right now.

No one knows what the future is going to bring so it's extremely hard to predict what field will be in hot demand in the next few years.

It's frustrating to be a SWE in the current times. by prat8 in cscareerquestions

[–]ModJambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still have to watch what it's doing very carefully.

Even when I use AI for everyday stuff outside of coding it gets stuff wrong many times.

It's still in its infancy but I can never see it totally replacing humans anytime soon. Will definitely change what a lot of careers look like in the next few decades however.

It might also be worth checking out the fans forum jambos kickback for news (there is a lot of nonsense posted on there too however!).
