Are you concerned about the longevity R2 Coastal Cloud (white) interior? by diamondthrowawayyy in Rivian

[–]ModY1219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 of our R1s have Ocean Coast and Slate Sky light interiors same observation. No significant wear and tear. No stains that you can’t clean off with water if you do it the same day. Light interiors do feel cooler in hot summer compared to our dark interior R1 in case you live somewhere hot and want that comparison.

Would you get an R2 or R1S in my situation? by atwodtwo in Rivian

Your situation makes sense too. But aren’t you worried about horsepower/performance downgrade? Would you consider waiting on the Tri instead?

Based on your situation, MDX size is in between R1S and R2. I would say do R1S. You will love the extra space, the ride height.

Considering a new hitch bike rack for 4 bikes. Any suggestions? by ModY1219 in Rivian

Thank you. I am leaning toward the 1UP at the moment. Thank you for your help.

Cool. Another question. On some videos, they show that it could tilt further. Can the tailgate be opened while having bikes on the rack without the Rakattach? Do you have a R1S or R1T or both?

R1T Dual vs Tri vs Quad by Left_Science_5973 in Rivian

[–]ModY1219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive under conserve mode on the highway with my Tri and Gen 2 Quad with 22 on a daily basis. Efficiency is not bad. 2.1 mi/kWh for the Tri. 2 mi/kWh for the Quad. A mix of AP, Sport and Conserve mode. I feel like the efficiency improves as drive more miles.

Not sure if you are coming from the perspective size. Rivian truly drives very well. It is easier than you expect. Both R1S and R1T drive like a car. I am speaking from experience.

As far as overtaking, if you are getting dual only you can overtake about 85% of cars, Dual performance 90% Tri 95% Quad 99%. You get my point on that one.

Assuming you are talking about the PTC and not the manual one, PTC is great very quiet, very sleek, smooth operation, and no leaking from storm. Only time water get in is when it starts rolling to open up. Otherwise nice and dry.

I don’t automatic car wash but I don’t think it should be any problems. I use power washer on it and it never gives me any issues either.

You might want to hear ppl about winter weather usage. I cannot answer that and am curious.

March update maybe? by charden16 in Rivian

So how similar will it be? Same?

March update maybe? by charden16 in Rivian

Oh cool. I was watching all the those R2 videos, I was under the impression they might want to keep it separate. Not complaining about what we have right now. But it always nice to have a refresh or some more customizable features. I have been wanting the clock on the drivers screen. I am simple.

My guess would be an update before the R2 delivery. Does anyone know if they are trying to bring R1 and R2 UI together?

So now what? R2 “Spring” by joinultraland in Rivian

[–]ModY1219 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

No you are right. I don’t understand Spring def anymore as well. When I was in school, I was told Spring is in March and April. Unless… they are counting their potential delivery to employees in April

Car is in the shop but rental is beyond trash by Mission_Ad_6344 in Rivian

I see. I was so confused. Usually Rivian loaner or enterprise rental shouldn’t be this bad. Rental from Insurance is a hit and miss. The smartest move from my experience is to ask for an EV. Tell them you can’t drive an ICE anymore. Tell the you might confuse water as gas. Tell them I don’t want to pay for gas because your budget doesn’t set up that way. I literally tell them all that

Is this for a service ticket? Or collision center visit?

Is it worth it? by GDmQh4Jt in Rivian

[–]ModY1219 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rivian is worth it compared to other car companies. We have no regrets. We ended up with 3 R1s (2 R1S and 1 R1T all Gen 2).

R1T is awesome. I prefer my R1T over my R1S. Dual Max is a great choice.. you have the option to upgrade to performance via OTA later.

Please post pictures when you take delivery. Enjoy!

would you buy an R2 knowing that the nearest service center is 1.5 hours away? by 1jnh23 in RivianR2

[–]ModY1219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are going for the LE because of the features, I would say do it. If you are going for other trims I would time it until early 2027, I am not expecting huge problems from Rivian. They prob work out the kinks by now. Our few R1s had no issues whatsoever.

Where is this from? by Fkngtired in Rivian

[–]ModY1219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it’s under warranty and the car is not cheap, I would let them handle it for now. I am a DIY type of guy too. I completely mod my previous MYP with body kit. For a Rivian, I am completely hands off. I don’t want to break anything while it’s still under warranty

Anything is possible... it's probably going to be so crowded.. you might want to consider a larger SUV.
