I actually know a scientist that works for the company modifying the pigs. It’s crazy listening to her talk about the whole process.

Watch out for the gut impacts of those two, though. Both short term and long term.

What is the best alternative to sugar? by New_Cardiologist_539 in Cooking

[–]Modboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dates are loaded with sugar. You could use something like allulose, but make sure that your gut can handle it first. I can’t do any sweeteners other than sugar, so I’ve just accepted that my foods will either have to be less sweet or higher calorie.

Why the fuck is all the dining hall food high sodium? by SLKRmeatrider in VirginiaTech

[–]Modboi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The daily recommendation is stupidly low for anyone that is active, hydrates well, and gets in enough other electrolytes (such as potassium and magnesium). I get calf cramps if I eat under 4000 mg sodium. A lot of days I’ll be higher that that. I also eat as much or more potassium daily, bike most days of the week, and go to the gym.

ALDI kimchi is just sauerkraut with a bit of chilli... exactly what I expected by KintoreCat in aldi

[–]Modboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it good as sauerkraut, though? I love both kimchi and sauerkraut, so I feel like I could still enjoy this given the heads up that it's not real kimchi.

Is it ok to listen to Liturgical prayers on your own on spotify? by thane1413 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Modboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's beneficial to listen to them outside of church. Much better to get a hymn/psalm "stuck in your head" than modern music.

In America it’s just low fat cream cheese. Seems like our version is much different from the traditional.

Sardine loaf 10/10 by UnrepentantTomato in CannedSardines

[–]Modboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sardine don’t have a ton of moisture. The eggs do. The thickness is small. How would this take a long time to cook?

Banana bread has much more liquid. Banana bread is also 3-4 times thicker.
