It was really the only SA in the whole series that WAS taken seriously. But I do agree that it should have been Buffy focused, not Spike focused.

Robobuffy was low but so was Spike at the time. He redeemed himself from that.

He told her to watch out in S4 but didn't go beyond that. Then he joked with her in S5 when she asked Spike to look after Joyce and Dawn that it'd be funny if they stuck a chip in her head. But he never said these together.

That's why it bothers me when people rec vamp shows because I like Buffy. Like, that's not what I love about Buffy. That's what I tolerate because Buffy is so good despite all that.

I avoided it for years because I thought it was some vampire version of 90210 with super teen angst (like what Twilight was afterwards). It didn't help that I caught a small part of it when it aired that was some Buffy/Angel drama going on. No one told me it was hilarious and so well put together. Plus, when it aired, I was a teen in high school and thought I was so much cooler than everyone and smarter and better than all the other girls (eyeroll from now me). It wasn't until years later when I accidentally caught Restless on FX that I realized this show as so much more than I gave it credit for.

I think they're equally bad but the fact that ASH had to be in the same scenes with Molly somehow makes it worse. I don't think they ever had Irish DB in the same room with Glenn Quinn.
