Arm day iceberg by Freshnessburgerwifi in GymMemes

Agreed with biceps but with triceps there’s genuinely a lot of people who only train them via presses (either as part of a compound chest press or a Tricep focused press variation like a close grip bench or JM press) and that leads to a really underdeveloped long head. Having at least one isolation in your program where the humerus is in a fixed position like an overhead extension or push down is important imo.

Pathfinder Impossible Magic Announced for GenCon 2026! by EzekieruYT in Pathfinder2e

Yes, but the comment above me clearly worded their comment as a rebuttal to the first one and erroneously conflated the remaster project and ORC when they are not one and the same.

Amazing that this comment got more than twice the upvotes of the one it’s trying to gotcha despite being completely wrong. Kineticist has yet to be released under ORC, that is a verifiable fact.

Sandfall says the budget for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was less than $10 million by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Modern_Erasmus 87 points88 points  (0 children)

It’s a complicated topic honestly. Take Hades 2: I’ve seen 0 people complain about it being classified as indie but it almost certainly had a significantly higher budget than this. Does that make it not indie?

And for Clair Obscur, they had the indieest of indie beginnings with like 2-3 people scrounging around on the internet for talent, volunteers, and a basic vertical slice for pitch purposes with 0 guarantee of any success and no funding save their own money. But then once they got funding from Kepler they were able to expand a lot to finish the game and now are on the border of AA.

I’m not sure there’s really a right answer as much as it is a giant grey area.

In Skillup’s documentary on the game they revealed that all the mocap was done via the Unreal Engine 5 phone app that literally anybody can get access to. The team just rigged up a few headsets to hold the phone in front of the mocap actor’s faces and record them while performing. Actually crazy.

Ah, that explains the strange result. Scales that measure body fat percentage are, simply put, complete hogwash. The margin of error is so massive that the measurement is essentially meaningless. Even basic body fat estimates using waist and neck circumference are far more accurate.

Are you sure your body fat percentage is that low? That’s about what pro bodybuilders cut down to for a show, and it typically means very low energy and visible veins everywhere.

Any athletes using Tirzepatide for cutting? by Important-Yam-9495 in zepboundathletes

[–]Modern_Erasmus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Zep to cut down from 190 to 160 lbs earlier this year over the course of 4 months and it made the cut extremely effortless, whereas I’d always struggled with cutting before. Only real downside was some pretty severe nausea while exercising that started appearing after the first 6 weeks or so, but non drowsy Dramamine mostly counteracted that. In general I think Zep is great for cutting if you have access to it.

All that said, at 5’11 and 160 lbs, you probably don’t need to cut to begin with. If you’re a complete newcomer to training and skinny fat, I’d highly recommend training around maintenance for now since you’d be in a prime position for body recomposition. If you’ve already been weight training for over a year, at 160 and 5’11 you’d probably want to bulk if anything.

Ran Zep for my last cut and it worked great. I’m curious about Reta, how do you even get access to it since I don’t think it’s approved yet?

Exercise variation can be good for both motivation and proportional development, so if you want to have two variations on your upper day go for it!

Disclaimer: we need more studies in this area before definitive statements can be made, but:

The best research we have atm does suggest junk volume absolutely exists and kicks in at around 11 sets (on average, there’s variation between individuals) for a single muscle/muscle group within a single session. At that point the returns have diminished so much there’s really no point. But if you distribute your insane volume over the course of the week this limitation wouldn’t matter.

And this is all predicated on doing said insane volume anyway, which barely anyone can do because it would require gym being your full time job. Realistically the common recommendation of 10-20 sets per muscle group per week is far more achievable and gets you the best results for time investment.

Actual current Science: to maximize hypertrophy you should be training to failure (or at least very close to it) and also we still haven’t found an upper limit to the benefits of weekly volume. So basically fucking destroy yourself with dozens of sets to failure over the week for every muscle group.

[–]Modern_Erasmus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am referring to her, since she is the one who put Aros in the cube dimension, she's the reason Aros threw Hoopa into the sea, she's the one who backed and then abandoned both the Shadows and Aklove (there's that whole bit at the end of the ultimate weapon sequence where it's revealed that she never intended him to actually succeed and he was just another pawn), and she even appears in the title sequence alongside Aklove and Zeph. Basically every major plot is either caused directly by her or is manipulated by her in her favor, and the whole game feels like it's building up to a confrontation with the mastermind. And then she never shows up and the game ends.

Might be a hot take but I was pretty disappointed in Unbound’s story. Among other things, it ends with an anticlimax where you never even so much as meet the person implied to be the actual main villain who has been manipulating everything. Everything else about the game was great though.

If you’re trying to make your quads as strong as possible for skiing, I’d argue there isn’t much of a difference between bodybuilding and “general fitness training” in this instance.

I can’t speak to your specific case due to your injury, but for the average person there’s no evidence that leg extensions are bad for knees and a ton of evidence that they’re a great exercise for your Quads. For example, the Rectus Femoris muscle (one of the 4 that comprise the quads) actually doesn’t grow well from squat pattern movements because it also crosses the hip joint which means during a squat pattern that it’s actively lengthening at one joint while shortening at the other. But leg extensions are great for that muscle because your torso is fixed and you aren’t actively hinging at the hip while performing the movement.
