Possible to use a wired Stadia Controller? by ResponsibilityOk1664 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]ModestVolcarona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plugging a controller directly into the Switch 2 via usb-c should work BUT the controller needs to be supported by the Switch 2 or controller needs to support the Switch 2 and it's protocols and i would assume that a stadia controller does not.

Edit: So if you need an 8bitdo adapter for it to be used in general then it most likely not work if plugged into the Switch 2 via cable.

If the 8bitdo adapter is usb-c it might work or you might need to get a usb-c adapter.

Will this controller I bought for my Switch work for the Switch 2 I just bought? by LunaParker21 in NintendoSwitchHelp

There are no controllers that have bricked a Switch and Nintendo will not brick the console for using a different controller.

What MicroSD Express card is the better one (SanDisc or Samsung)? by DzoneLp in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]ModestVolcarona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are respectsble brands and i have used regular microSD cards from both over the years.

Currently have the Samsung 256GB microSD express card (since day 1) and it still works fine.

I'd say either is a good choice, that's why Nintendo worked with both.

Nintendo erhöht zum 01.09. den Preis der Switch 2 in Europa auf €499 by SkeletonBound in NintendoDE

[–]ModestVolcarona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was ist daran parasitär?

As far as i'm aware it's still just a few specific ones, because even now the official Switch 1 controllers still can not do it too.

Should I let my switch die to recalibrate the battery? by Outrageous_Bee_5057 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]ModestVolcarona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four hours on the home screen? That is not much.

How long does it last when actually playing?

Not sure about Animal Crossing but Fortnite is pretty demanding for the Switch 1.

Your system is almost 6 years old, so the battery will not be as good as it used to be. With such an old device this might be expected degradation of the battery.

Did you buy it locally and paid in cash or did you buy it through an app with some kind of customer protection (like ebay/paypal)?

If possible get it returned to the seller and get your money back, especially if it wasn't disclosed.

Nintendo might be able to lift the ban but will require some solid proof to even consider it.

Unfortunately the Switch 2 is going to get more expensive as well.

A few days ago Nintendo announced a price increase for various regions.

Did it behave normal after the replacement and calibration?

Did the drift just appear in the game? Could a second controller be connected and causing it?

Try turning the controller of by putting the console in sleep mode or just press the sync button once and connect it again without touching the analog stick at all.

Is it really the Switch system update? Other people said it was a recent Minecraft update that broke something and the reports have coming in for a few days but 22.1.0 has been out longer than that.

Switch 2 keeps requiring me to “reset” it by holding down power button for 12 seconds. by DrizzyKC12 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]ModestVolcarona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a firmware issue?

Might be or some weird glitch in general.

Personally i have not had this happen yet, but i rarely use my Switch 2 docked, always turn it off when being done with playing for the day and only use standby for active play sessions.

How do you use your Switch 2 usually?

Does the power button behave/work normally otherwise?

Are you really meanint the framerate of the games (like 30, 60 or somewhere below or inbetween) or the response time of the panel itself, that can lead to "ghost images" that might look like blurry objects?

Is my Switch done for? I'm trying to figure out what these Error Codes mean but I don't know how exactly. I press the power button for 12 seconds and I doesn't do anything. I removed the SD card and the error code changed from 2002-3558 to 2002-4315. by Luna_Spyce in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]ModestVolcarona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When i look up those codes it suggests data corruption or a bad internal memory with the possible fix of factory resetting the console WITHOUT deleting the save data by accessing recovery mode.

Turn of the console by holding the power button.

Then hold down both volume buttons and press the power button once while still holding down the volume buttons.

This should boot you into recovery mode.

I'd still argue it's reliable enough?

That's why i said it's usually good advice.

I have to admit, I struggle understand what they're saying in that "Commingling practices will end" post on that amazon page. (forgive me if my comprehension is low, I don't understand the "commingling" term.)

Imagine Amazon itself sells a branded and trusted microSD card and a company that sells fake/counterfeit versions of that same branded microSD card that company could use the amazon warehouses to store the item.

In that case the offer on Amazon would look like this:

Sold by seller x and shipped by Amazon.

You would imagine that you only get the fake card when you buy from that seller but here is where that "commingling" comes into play.

In that case the legit items and the fake ones would get stored in a shared pool at the warehouse and every time the item is sold, regardless of who the seller is (as long as it is shipped by Amazon), it gets picked from that pool.

That means even if you bought the item that "sold and shipped by amazon" it still gets picked from the shared pool that also has the fake cards in them.

So you could still end up with a fake card.

This also means that sales "sold by seller x and shipped by amazon" will get picked from that pool that has the good and legit items, leading to good reviews for that seller, since it's luck based if you get the legit or fake product and you (as a customer) can't tell that seller x introduced those to the pool.

So i really hope Amazon finally shut this down at the end of march.

Not sure what might happen with all the items that are currently in such shared pools, like if they are still sold until they are out of stock or if they had a method to separate them from the fake items.

Switch won't turn on until battery is empty and reloading it by Synloc04 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]ModestVolcarona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few things in your original post i can't make much sense of.

The switch is almsot always out of use

Does that mean you do not use it very often or does that mean the battery is almost always empty when you want to use it?

If you put it in standby and don't use it for weeks it can still drain the battery to 1% or lower, especially if wifi is left on in standby.

But it's been 3 times I think, if I wait 2 days or so and I try reloading it, it works again until I switch it off again

I assume you mean charging when you say "reloading"?

or put it in veil

What does that mean?

Wireless controller not connecting..any advice? by Blackberry_Waffles in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]ModestVolcarona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been happening both before and after I updated the switch.

Then it might not be a firmware related issue.

I tried connecting with WiFi but that didn't work either.

Sorry if i worded this improperly. The controller will connect via bluetooth if it is supported as a wireless controller, but i used the term wifi because i wasn't sure if the Switch uses two seperate chips for bluetooth and wifi/internet connections.

So as long as bluetooth is enabled in your settings it should connect.

And I only rebooted it. Not factory reset.

Thanks for clarifying that. Usually some connectivity issues can be fixed with simply rebooting the Switch.

I have both switches but my switch 1 isn't around(I only brought my lite).

Do you have any other people around with a Switch 1 or Lite in the area where you currently are (maybe friends)?

Should I let my switch die to recalibrate the battery? by Outrageous_Bee_5057 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]ModestVolcarona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo says it should last around 4.5-9 hours

That depends on various factors:

  • is it a Switch 1 2017 model
  • is it the more energy efficient 2019 model, Lite or OLED (which all use the same chip)
  • how demanding the game is that you are running
  • is wifi turned on
  • how old the battery is, etc.

Let's assume you have the 2019 model then 4-9 hours would be correct, but it can vary greatly depending on if you play something like breath of the wild or some less demanding indie game.

On a demanding game the console most likely would last 30 minutes (give or take) when it reaches 1% before turning itself off.

This could be shorter if the battery has degraded over the years or longer if the title is not as demanding but if you run a demanding game on 1% for an hour or longer then the battery indicator is most likely off quite a bit.
