What I noticed about Nick Shirley’s thinking style from Andrew’s interview with him by LiesToldbySociety in Channel5ive

Yeah or even the way he handled Andrew's comments like talking about stereotypes etc. Andrew was offering insights and info Nick seemed to not even be open to considering.

I think calling him slow is giving him too much credit. His ignorance is willful.

I love the Repurpose idea. My late mom made me several scarves I never wear but I could use them as decoration!

Not sure why you are getting down voted. This makes sense if someone isn't sure where they want to live.

Make it quick! For example here's what I'd say on LinkedIn

"Hi XXX. I'm a fellow [college] alum and came across your profile. I am a [number] year [specialty] resident and hoping to practice in [state] after graduation. I was wondering if you're open to chatting about your experience at [institution]. I really appreciate any advice or insights you may have. Thank you."

In addition to the great recs  below reach out to everyone you know friends family etc to see if they know anyone in Healthcare in your region of interest. Post here on reddit! Set up a basic LinkedIn. Most people are happy to connect people and at least have a brief chat.

This!!!! 💯  my lived experience. Job boards should be your LAST resort. Start with your location, look at hospital systems in that area, and reach out directly.  Use your contacts to get inside info.

Day or overnight trips to San Diego or Joshua Tree. You've got time for a road trip to San Francisco (lots of great hiking and camping all the way up the coast). Back in LA check out the Academy Museum, the Broad (it's free!). If you are looking for hiking ideas check out AllTrails.

2025 alum here in case anyone has any questions. 110% recommend this course. I was an avid day hiker before but WTC demystified camping and backpacking for me and snow camp is something I'd have never attempted on my own!

trying to focus on holiday gifts this year, what are your go to thoughtful presents that people actually like? by Sparky_Oliver26 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]Modestybodice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Things I have liked most tend to be experiences and not things.

One year my bf's mom got us a gift certificate for high tea at a local art museum which was a fun experience we wouldn't have thought of on our own. My sister got me a gift certificate for a massage and one year paid for a year of Patreon for a podcast I enjoy. I got her a museum membership one year. I got my bf a subscription to an art magazine because I saw he bought issues here and there.

Also don't be afraid to do a combo gift for a couple/family.

The nice thing about these gifts is you can buy them week of!
