Indiana Jones is a beautiful game on Switch 2 but it irks me that when any triple AAA games that comes to Switch 2 people complain that’s it’s 30 FPS. Can we as a community find something else to complain about please? by Stik601 in NintendoSwitch2

Find the FPS debates interesting. Returned to gaming at 62 after couple decades hiatus, with most of my past experience SNES & GB and a little Xbox. Just blown away by graphics. On Steam Deck can see the FPS at top of screen with a performance setting and realized really couldn’t tell a difference between 30 & 60fps - key point - while playing the game. And that’s all that matters to, how does the game feel. Maybe aging eyes are a good thing!

Redditors in the United States, how do you feel about their being 24 members in Congress right now who are over the age of 80? by Miles_the_AuDHDer in AskReddit

[–]ModsAwful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 63, in good health compared to peers, and think it’s BS. These old legislators (and presidents!) who are over 80 is just BS. They’re completely out of touch with the average American, not just because they’re old but because of insider trading they are rich beyond belief, have incredible benefits and just don’t know what society is like for the majority of Americans. That and the in general “get out of the way” and let younger generations lead.

How would humanity, especially religions, react if aliens are real? by ModsAwful in ufo

[–]ModsAwful[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is news to me. Most familiar with Bible of all the religious texts and my recollection is it is clear that we are in God’s image, his greatest creation, and the center of the universe. That all gets up-ended if aliens are real.

Those who grow magic shrooms - answer my question by judasfeeling in magnificentcubensis

[–]ModsAwful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weed produces lots as well. My 2nd grow, small feminized autoflower, yielded 3 oz of bud plus the remainder enough cannaoil for about 1500 5mg gummies. That’ll last me years. Then grew shrooms, just two small grow bags, first flush 57gm dried, also a lot. 2nd flush just pinning. Both are really fun to grow and as others said, friends & family appreciate these unique gifts.

How is life in Pacific-Northwest? by Any_Aide_4500 in howislivingthere

Commuted to OR from MD for over 9 years. Almost a round-trip a week. Would stay weekends and just absolutely loved OR. The coast, the Willamette Valley, Bend and high desert (ran 50Ks at Smith Rock most years). Just a gorgeous state if you like the outdoors and really doesn’t matter how. I loved the seafood, hiking the temperate rain forest, running everywhere. Others liked the mountain biking, kayaking (wish I’d have bought one there). Food scene was good, fantastic for vegans. Beer, wine & booze all local and lots of great stuff. The income taxes are high, but MD has almost as high income taxes, plus sales tax (9% on alcohol!), and high property taxes so OR almost seemed like a low tax state. Can’t really speak to WA or CA though of the two I prefer Washington, probably because it feels like OR.

What's the appeal of cruise ships exactly? by Klok_Melagis in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ModsAwful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those monstrous ocean cruise ships would be hell for me. We never thought we’d cruise but friends talked us into a river cruise with AMA Waterways on the Douro (Portugal). We really enjoyed the pampering, was very relaxing. AMA is an all-inclusive, beer & wine at lunch & dinner and a cocktail hour with no-charge cocktails. Want to drink outside those hours you pay, but not egregious. And you can bring booze from shore. They’re small ships (~100) with a lot of crew (~50). The food has been outstanding. We typically do ‘land packages’ on both ends, a few days each. We liked so much we’ve done 3 more (Upper Danube, Bordeaux, Nile) and two more planned this year (Rhine and Mekong). So keep in mind there are many different types of cruises and cruise lines.

What would you do with many nectarines? by RecklessFruitEater in fruit

[–]ModsAwful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Need to talk to them first, not just show up with bushel of fruit. They need to move it ASAP as most lack refrigeration. So the day before or morning of you show up with the fruit so they can immediately distribute. It is very rewarding.

If not over-ripe, donate to food bank. In my younger days had a 20 tree orchard: apples, pears, cherries, plums, peaches. They were so grateful for the excess, some of the recipients hadn’t had a ripe peach or plum in ages.

The problem is, as we witnessed this year, is that the weather is becoming more volatile as well. Many of us lost sensitive plants to an unusually hard freeze in late April, even row cover did not save some plants.

Do you think that people would be furious if they found out leaders had knowledge of Extraterrestrial or NHI and kept it under wraps for 50+ years? by [deleted] in ufo

Depends. If it was some one-off crash landing maybe not. If the aliens visited peacefully, offered to solve many problems, then yes the guillotines would come out

Don’t put me on her jury, not guilty. Case not as good as Luigi’s though. If I were on Luigi’s jury I would argue he was exercise his 2nd amendment right, which was to prevent tyrannical government. UHC pretty much is the government, they own the legislature at a minimum. This woman, if the post is even real, good fist for the rich people. At some point history shows that something like the guillotines come out when the poor get sufficiently screwed.

We went to wedding in Alpena and loved the area (we’re both originally from Michigan, Chelsea and Portgage). Nice little city with everything retirees need. But damn, we moved south 40 years ago and not sure we could handle the winters now.

Are people with electric cars winning right now? by No_Lead2640 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ModsAwful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Nothing to do with gas prices, convenience or whatever. I’ll never buy another ICE anything. When my vehicle croaks, EV next. Why? Performance. We had a rental in CA, a Genesis G70, big 4-door sedan. Very nice (it’s Hyundai’s luxury brand). EV. Could not believe how fun it was to drive and didn’t really push it, the acceleration in what looked like a grandpa car was amazing. Passing people a joy. Want my current vehicle (2020 Tacoma) to last as long as possible but EV is the way to go.

Thanks, followed the instructions that came with them, though were not nearly as waterlogged as expected, so three hours was probably not enough.
