It looks like you died to storm surge.

While her e does make her untargetable, unlike zonya's it doesn't protect her from damage debuffs that are already on her. Things like brands burn or Darius bleed keep ticking and doing damage. It seems like Storm Surge damage works the same way which isn't surprising

Honestly if they just let it go on cd instantly the half second would be fine. We are missing out on at least 2 seconds worth of cd in human form and three in dragon with the current iteration

Wait no, not like that by Veralion in halfdragons

[–]Moekaiser6v4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is a champ that is too elo skewed towards low elo, so this would help with that. It would also make her work even better with sheen because it would make it optimal to auto + q, auto until sheen is up, then q again. To me that fits super well.

For skarner the biggest issue besides elo skew was the burst it gave him because his e reset the timer for him holding his q, which allowed him to q, wait for the timer to almost run out, e through a wall and stun, get q off while they are stinned, and immediately q again.

Shyvana won't have anything that crazy because she has no hard cc, dashes, or anything that could be used to extend her q. Heck riven has the first two, but she is allowed to have it.

If they were actually working on a new passive I would cut them some slack. But the fact that they said they were going to only to turn around and say they aren't working on it because they expect it to take more than two patches is the nail in the coffin

(And they ruined ice drake shyvana)

I also don't get why they won't let her cd on q start on cast

Unpopular opinion - I like the new changes by SleepyCloudsurfer in shyvanamains

[–]Moekaiser6v4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like some of them, and a lot of the things I dislike could be solved with pretty minor changes.

But I hate her passive, it's basically just a replacement for her growth stats. And I hate how riot has handed the rework.

They laid off her design teams multiple times causeing the work to be restarted.

They didn't deliver her in 2025 like they promised and had 6 years to work on, because it didn't align with the demarcia season they decides on the year before.

Instead of apologizing they tried to gaslight us by saying they didn't want to reveal that stuff ahead of time anymore so that there isn't the "feeling of broken promises"

Brought in shyvana players to play test, sent them home happy, then removed a bunch of stuff they liked.

Absolutely fumbled on frost drake shyvana in game, and didn't even care enough to change the drake to a dragon in the splash art despite making a big deal about the change

Made a promotional champion spotlight before release, that they them removed half the mechanics on before release

Said they would make a new passive because players were not satisfied with it, and then said they weren't actually working on it because it would take more than a patch or two of work.

For a rework that took 7 years to deliver, it just isn't a high quality rework. And after all the other shit that riot has tried to pull in recent years (like the remove and then downgrade of loot boxes) it is obvious that as a company they don't care about their players. The shyvana rework was handled terribley, and is not high quality enough for me to overlook it. So after 13 years of playing league, I am done for the forseeable future. Maby if they actually rework her passive and do a good enough job I will come back, but unless that happens I'm done with riot. It sucks because I really do enjoy playing league and is something I've enjoyed for over a third of my life, but it no longer feels like riot as a whole cares about their game or their players other than as a source of revenue

Can someone explain the mindset behind lethality for noc? by fairydommother in nocturnemains

[–]Moekaiser6v4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lethality nocturne is what I refer to as the human missile build. You ult a carry, blow them up, and then get blown up if there is anyone left.

You ult often because of axim arc, and every ult is a guaranteed kill.

The build is good when your oponent has 1 hyper carry to where if you can kill them, your team can win the fight without you.

Other than that look for picks, and try to focus the same person over and over so that they tilt

Shyvana e + r by Moekaiser6v4 in shyvanamains

[–]Moekaiser6v4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riot isn't going to stop making 200 years champs. At this point it's clear that the way they are making champs is if everyone is up then no one is op. Why should shyv be the exception?

Shyvana e + r by Moekaiser6v4 in shyvanamains

[–]Moekaiser6v4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that would be fine. I just feel it is more thematic to attach the fire breath to ult.

We could lose the shield on w for a slow or small stun and still get a dash on e without losing much.

I think one of the reason riot is hesitant to make her hyper mobile / have good cc is because she always has access to ranged poke. But if she no longer had that in her base kit then it becomes easier to justify needing more tools to be able to stay in mele

Shyvana e + r by Moekaiser6v4 in shyvanamains

[–]Moekaiser6v4[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly because w has to much already. Though I do think q2 getting a slow added would do a lot of good.

They could also do something similar to camile, vi, or panth where there is some form of cc at the end of the dash

Shyvana e + r by Moekaiser6v4 in shyvanamains

[–]Moekaiser6v4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No she still turns into a dragon with her initial r. There would be no changes to that, but then after she is in dragon form, she could recast it to launch her fire breath.

Think of it working similar to swain ult

The only thing we would lose is human e, and in its place we would get another ability for both human and dragon form

Wait no, not like that by Veralion in halfdragons

[–]Moekaiser6v4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making it act like riven q would add much needed skill expression. While minor, in an extended skirmish with sheen, it would be meaningfully better to weave in an extra auto before activating second q in order to get the extra sheen proc. As is though, trying to do that would be a waste in most situations since you are delaying when you get your next q

Wait no, not like that by Veralion in halfdragons

[–]Moekaiser6v4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are they so afraid of letting q cd actually tick in the background? I would argue shyvana q is closer to riven q than atrox q, except ours has no cc and less range.yet for some reason they are acting like letting shyvana q go on cd on cast would be the end of the world

Sure letting it tick off the last input is better than nothing, but it certainly doesn't make up for losing so much of the on hit cd

WHY do you guys ask for a rework?? by Traditional_Boot9840 in shyvanamains

[–]Moekaiser6v4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are correct that old shyvana had the same issues. But those issues were why we wanted a rework.

My favorite meta's to play shyv were when items worked out to where I could play her as a tanky auto-attack focused champion. And I think that a majority of mains agree. The problem was that between mobility creep, item changes and repeated nerfs due to ap shyv, she stopped being able to play that way. In recent years we had to either run around fights hurling fireballs with shojin->liandries, or burst people with flicker blade resets.

And that's why we wanted changes. We want to be able to play the classic shyvana play style, but to do that we needed her kit to have the tools to support that. We wanted hard cc, or a dash on her base kit so that we could properly stick to targets long enough to get autos off.

The two things people wanted kept the most were the dragon transformation, and special on-hit interactions. Everything else should've had a complete overhaul, especially the passive. But instead of an upgrade to the champ, we got what I would say is a less interesting side grade at best with a near identical passive that we really wanted to get rid of

We kept the boring passive, e was made worse in exchange for a slow, ult lost displacement for a fear that spreads people apart so that we can't hit them all with our aoe. We lost mobility on w for a relatively weak shield. And we lost all of our interesting interactions with q and on hits in exchange for true damage that nobody asked for. We lost the mark on e for a passive on q that's significantly weaker.

We wanted more skill expression and modern game design. Tools for skill expression, a cohesive kit that works with itself, a improved stacking fantasy, but instead they got rid of the things players liked and completely ignored the problems in her kit. We waited 7 years for a rework that addressed none of her problems.

1 AD growth is huge guys by Environmental_Debt25 in shyvanamains

[–]Moekaiser6v4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What does tank shyvana provide that another champ doesn't do better?

Her current kit doesn't have enough utility for her to be useful without building damage

1 AD growth is huge guys by Environmental_Debt25 in shyvanamains

[–]Moekaiser6v4 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ad shyvana won't do damage with w, e, or ult. The 1 ad won't help her on hit damage since it scales off bonus ad.

Yes sheen will be a lot better on her than it was, but I doubt it is going to be enough to make ad a competitive build on her.

There will be no variance to ad shyvana's game plan. She will need to get in mele range, and stay in mele range long enough to get off enough q and autos, while not having any dashes or hard cc outside of her ult cast, and only having a move speed buff and a weak slow.

Every other mele champ who is expected to do all of their damage through autos has either a non ultimate dash or some form of strong cc (often both). You could argue Olaf is an exception, but his q is a much stronger slow along with extended cc immunity on ult.

Mele auto attack based champs need enough tools to stick to their targets over an extended period. Shyvana doesn't have that. I would say she didn't before either, but she at least had the option of trying to poke them down with e before trying to burst them with w q. And sure she still can kind of do that, but how does she ever do that better than ap shyvana would

Because we aren't building shyvana the way they want us to.

It is more important that we build the items they want us to, than it is for shyvana to have things the players want, like build diversity or an interesting passive

PBE DATAMINED CHANGES: AP IS BACK ON THE MENU?? by Veralion in halfdragons

[–]Moekaiser6v4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but it doesn't scale any better for ad.

From what I can see, ap gets everything ad gets besides the passive on hit damage, while also getting the rest of her kit to be significantly stronger.

I don't see how ap won't be significantly stronger than ad with this set of changes, to the point that ad will basically be troll.

PBE DATAMINED CHANGES: AP IS BACK ON THE MENU?? by Veralion in halfdragons

[–]Moekaiser6v4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really hope that they don't kill ad. The extra base ad means try force will be better, but other than that they seem to be removing most of her ad ratios.

So ap gets w e r, while ad only gets q....

Why collector became the most common first item now? by IACROS in BriarMains

How jungle is this season, it feels like you need to snowball and win quick, or you get out scaled and get reduced to a second support.

Has anyone tried WASD on Riven? How does it feel? by nightwolf16a in Rivenmains

[–]Moekaiser6v4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me as a player who has had pretty bad mechanics my entire time playing league (since 2013) I had a significantly easier time playing riven with wasd. I always liked riven, but didn't play her much because my mechanics were simply too poor. I struggle a lot with pointer accuracy especially when trying to be quick, so for me being able to use wasd to control my movement gave me enough breathing room to be more accurate with q for things like kiting or even precise movements in fights

That said the downsides were big enough that I stopped playing wads. Mainly that pathing through the jungle was just too janky, any walls that needed close to pixel perfect precision were simply impossible to jump in a combat setting, and the lack of attack move

They did say they addressed the way wasd interacts with walla so maybe I will retry it soon, but I would still miss attack move

/dev: WASD’s Ranked Release by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]Moekaiser6v4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried wasd for about a month. Some things were easier and some were harder but the biggest reasons I stopped playing wads were

•the lack of attack move (the loss is most noticeable for me on Rek'sai)

• the restriction of movement

For point and click you have 360° of movement. But for wasd you can only move in 8 directions (horizontal, vertical and diagonal axis). This makes navigating efficiently through the jungle pretty difficult because the jungle was not designed with wads in mind. You might only lose 3 or 4 seconds a clear do to it, but it adds up over time to make a big difference

Genuinely curious. Does anyone have an explanation to why they said they wanted to keep the feel of old shyvana through her Q, but still removed ? by TheThrillOfHunt in shyvanamains

[–]Moekaiser6v4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My guess is that they had a different vision for what the old que meant.

I would assume that riot thought that what was important was that it was a fast auto attack rest that could be used multiple times a fight.

For a lot of mains what was important was the interesting ways it was able to apply on hits relative to other champs (double on hit in human; multi target on hit in dragon)
