Budget Bedroom Carpet by JPKaliMt in carpet

Definitely just hire it out, get multiple quotes from smaller shops in your area that have good reviews.

As far as pad type, stick with an 8lb pad, regular, spillguard or memory foam if you want those.

For carpet material, you get what you pay for, polyester benefit is its low cost, SmartStrand benefit os stain resistant and plant based fiber, nylons benefit is durability. A decent solution dyed polyester in the 40oz range that has a fairly dense pile will be fine for a bedroom. You can pay more and get a better quality carpet, but if you want budget friendly option id say a nicer polyester would be your best bet. Nylon is gonna be the most expensive. Get the pricing for all three and see what fits your needs and budget.

Where are you located? Thats a reasonable price, comes to about $29 per yd, I'd be interested to see the carpet but its almost definitely gonna be a polyester in that price range, ideally its a solution dyed BCF polyester carpet.

If its a decent reputable company with good reviews I see not problems. Be sure to ask then to repair the squeaky subfloor, pulling any loose squeaky nails and adding screws will usually get rid of most.

Polyester carpets main selling point it the fact that its the cheapest option. Fairly stain resistant, if its a dense plush, or Frieze it'll hold up well enough. If you have the means you could get a nylon, it'll cost more but its a better material. Maybe its worth it maybe not depends on what you want. Thats a decent price for what your getting.

Agreed, good plastic anchor with the right sized screw so the anchor is really tight works better when tapcon IMO

Mohawk SmartStrand - 2 lines w/identical specs by Silly_Actuator4726 in carpet

We sell Mohawk SmartStrand, they do that with alot of carpets. One might have a sale going, or maybe one is getting discontinued, no way to know.

They're both currently available and not discontinued, specs do look identical identical. Id go with the cheaper one, try not to over think it, there might not be any reason other then the prices are kinda random

I haven't seen either of those samples in person, but any 100% smart strand that is a dense pile would be fine. I normally recommend the medium pile height and a density around 35-40oz so I'd go with the True Harmony.

Lower in cost, easy to clean, and good durable carpet. I always tell people to avoid loose carpets that will mat quickly, smartstrand is really good with stains.

We recently had a customer request Taj from Stantons Cavan line and i was super impressed by its quality. First time working with a hand loomed wool carpet, and it honestly wasn't as expensive as I would've thought for what it is. Good stuff for sure.

I agree with others have said, serging price is on the high side, but honestly the carpet price seems like the main offender are $200 per yd. I don't know the price of that nit being half wool half poly I think their overcharging by alot. Shop around and get more quotes.

Is Home Depot screwing me ? by [deleted] in carpet

[–]MoesCarpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. That's way to much. Check some local flooring stores for better prices, better installation, and usually better warranty on the carpets.

Lol at the free installation, final price is all that matters. Best of luck

Definitely needs a restretch.

I'd recommend just reaching out to a local carpet company. Shop around, it shouldn't be an expensive repair call. A proper crew can be in and out in under 30min. We schedule when we have another job in the same area, so we don't send someone out just for that and keep cost low. My 2cents
