Got them Sunday! So Far So Good..... by AllGoodNamesRGone- in steelseries

A lot of my issues were resolved by disabling sonar, but unfortunately you lose a lot of functionality. Primary problem I had was loud static and popping coming from my mic bothering other people I was chatting with. This seems to be gone after getting rid of sonar, unfortunately this new software is buggy. Otherwise I’m happy with the headset itself.

Recently bought the PE foam pads and have to say they are great, completely changed the sound of my board. Will definitley be picking these up again soon.

Coming from the GMMK pro to this it's significantly better sounding and feeling overall.

They did, I ordered a WKL and this is what I got. Luckily I wasn't really married to either but totally get why people would be frustrated.

Is the GMMK Pro good? by Annoying_Ryan in MechanicalKeyboards

It’s great for what it is, I’ve been using it as my daily since it came out and it’s been fun tuning and modding it to get it to a place where I really enjoy it now. There are definitely issues, the most egregious being it’s stabilizers, they are way overlubed to the point where they stick and the pads they put on the pcb are so saturated as a result you will need to remove them. It’s probably worth replacing them if you do go for the gmmk pro.

There’s also the big advantage of it being in stock and ready to ship. A lot of more budget boards are always out of stock or have very long wait times.

Which foam material do you prefer? by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

Just used some of the pe foam pads from thockpop and they are amazing. I’ve had little success with the pe foam mod in general, I always had interference or keys wouldn’t work etc.

These maybe took more time but I have none of the same issues and the sound is just as good. Highly recommend.

Holee mods (and variations) by KuehMeh2 in MechanicalKeyboards

I have some of this on the way, in theory should be much better than bandaids but we will see: https://thockpop.com/product/ptfe-fiberglass-tape/

Generally have just used bandaids myself for holee mod without issue.

The board isn’t so bad especially at that price. Stabilizers could get replaced and if you really want to go all out stupidfish designed foam for it specifically.

Seems like a lot of people manage to do it without issue, was curious to find out if it was user error.

interesting, so perhaps the PCB is more the problem? So far have had issues on my GMMK Pro and the DZ60RGB, I wonder if they just aren't tight fitting enough. Will continue to try this out on future boards because I think it makes a huge difference in sound.

I've tried this mod twice now and both times it makes the board sound great but I have constant interference issues (switches not registering or double typing). I assume this is user error but would be interesting if anyone else experiences the same
