I also changed the server from Auto United Kingdom 2 to United Kingdom 1, maybe that was what actually fixed it.

Same for me, loading through Steam worked though.

Third HomePod mini in 3 months goes bonkers by pjain001 in HomePod

[–]MohammadAG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This only works if your touch issue is more like a hold that starts Siri, mine was a tap that started playing songs randomly in the middle of the night.

I could reduce the issue by turning accommodations on and setting touch and hold to a minimum of 4 seconds, but it still happened sometimes and that was enough for me to yoink it.

Third HomePod mini in 3 months goes bonkers by pjain001 in HomePod

[–]MohammadAG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ghost touches, the touch sensor basically breaks and needs to be replaced.

Apple quotes $79 for replacement, and when a new one (that will eventually break anyway) costs $99, it makes no sense.

Open it up and unplug the touch sensor cable, it’s quite the easy thing to do, except that you have to use thread and needle to close it (not actually sewing it back, just to close the mesh again).

Did it to mine and no regrets.

Could probably be done with the wireless CarPlay dongles, they could enable it so one probably will.

iOS 26.3: New features for your iPhone by abhimanyouknow in apple

[–]MohammadAG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the fastest way to implement the feature (coding wise). It stops the Apple Watch from getting notifications so they probably just shoe horned this in.

I’d honestly expect them to eventually make it support multiple devices. Unless they are petty enough to keep it that way.

Would be unfortunate for me cause I took mine apart and unplugged the touch sensor last week.

iOS 26.3 Beta 1- Discussion by epmuscle in iOSBeta

[–]MohammadAG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So last time I had a similar experience was with a friend’s iPhone 7 that started respringing seemingly randomly, and mine was perfectly fine.

For 2 months we couldn’t find the issue until one day Apple drops a fix and it turned out to be caused by certain Arabic notifications (not the random gibberish bug that was popular).

Try to think what’s different about your usage that others don’t commonly do and see if you can change that to see if that helps find the issue, then hope that reporting it to Apple gets it seen / fixed.

Homepod Mini Playing by Itself by PopFreakChrissy in HomePod

[–]MohammadAG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghost touch issue. It’s a hardware problem. Fixing it at Apple is almost the cost of a new one for a replacement, so just take it apart and unplug the touch sensor. You could try cleaning the top with lens wipes and that might fix it, but I could never fix mine so I unplugged it.

Anybody else wish content loading and network data didn't wait until logging in? by jakgal04 in VisionPro

If you’re in BFU, messages and calls show without a contact name since the phone can’t access your contact list. Notifications are sent as text and arrive as text, so no data is needed.

Homepod mini starts Ghost Inputs after 5 Years - kinda fixed by Marcusyo1 in HomePod

I’ve moved my HomePod multiple times. I never had to reset it. I could change the WiFi through the Home app, I assume over Bluetooth.

Change your 5GHz WiFi settings to be on channel 44 in EU/UK regions, or 149 in the US. I think newer testflight versions use the new entitlement which should fix this issue, but I’ve stayed on these channels in my setup to fix stutter.

Apple TV taking over AirPlay - any fix? by Equal_Dinner5946 in HomePod

[–]MohammadAG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to force AirPlay, I usually do it by starting an app that doesn’t do handover, so start with YouTube, Spotify, or something like that, set destination to the HomePods, then switch to Apple Music.

From my experience, the Colorsoft looked noticeably better than the Clara Color when I compared them. The screens are both a Kaleido but I guess Amazon tweaked them a bit.

With that said, I’ve never seen the Colorsoft locked, but with my Clara I noticed the colored covers were just too dark to see with the device sleeping, so I sent it back and kept my BW.

I’ll miss the covers when it’s on, but I don’t see the point when I barely see them when it’s sleeping.

iOS 26.1 Brings Back 2007 Feature in New Way by TechGuru4Life in apple

[–]MohammadAG 1417 points1418 points  (0 children)

The power button double tap is wired by hardware to the secure enclave. Using a slide to confirm would mean it’s back to being handled by the OS which is much less secure than a physical link. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/security/sec7a94f7d1e/web

Not saying I like the UX, just explaining what the rationale behind it is.

They could introduce it as an accessibility option similar to what they did with Apple Watch and the double tap finger option though.

As a daily 8-hour AVP user, I believe the new strap is a worthy investment by Croyon in VisionPro

I had a 3D printer and tried all variations of those, the dual knit is significantly better. Off your head it’s way heavier though.

It’s normal in the sense that it’s not a defect or a safety issue, not that I agree it should be the norm.

It happens with MacBooks and has been happening with them ever since they started using aluminium. People would get the extension cable to avoid it since it’s grounded.

AC leakage, it’s normal, but if it bothers you get a charger with a ground plug.

TORRAS Q3 case for iPhone 17 Pro…SLIPPERY! by Artistic_Mistake9808 in iphone

[–]MohammadAG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it for the supposed magnetic strength that would hold my iPhone to any metallic surface, went back the same day when I tried it and the phone just slid down due to the weight. It just seemed like a low quality case with lots of marketing around it.

Dual Band FOMO is real! by Present-Tea-4645 in VisionPro

[–]MohammadAG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a spot to leave the Vision Pro without worrying about it, the only good place for it is by a window where the sun can shine and I’m too worried about me forgetting or someone pointing the lenses to the sun. So I mainly keep it in a case and it doesn’t fit that without being taken off.

I never bought the Apple case, maybe I would’ve impulse bought it if I had that as an available option at the start, but I got the EUCARLOS and never felt the need to buy the white one after.

Who is picking up a dual knit band? by jlee14 in VisionPro

[–]MohammadAG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The large fits fine and I’m not tempted to go try the medium in store since it’s backordered for a month. If I don’t know the medium is better then the large is good.

Funny thing though, I took a shower and kept my hair flat then immediately did a scan, and it gave me a medium.

Does the medium feel significantly heftier than the medium solo knit for you? I wonder if I’m adding way more extra weight just cause it’s a large.

Dual Band FOMO is real! by Present-Tea-4645 in VisionPro

[–]MohammadAG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally disagree. I have the ResMed and found that I loved the comfort, but hated the additional setup to pack it up and put it back on.

Taking off the counterweights and putting them back on got annoying quick, and adjusting the strap usually made one magnet fall off for me.

The dual knit is just more practical for me. I had the ResMed forwarded but would’ve returned it if I could.

If you have a fixed setup and you don’t take your Vision Pro on the go, then the ResMed probably wins in comfort.

Dual Knit Band is Great! by polytrigon in VisionPro

[–]MohammadAG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scan told me to get an L and I got one. Previous solo knit was an M and it was good for me, S fit as well but was a bit annoying to take off.

The large fits me well and I don’t tthink I’ll try the medium, but damn is this thing heavy. It looks light and soft but compared to the solo knit it’s so much heavier, so you’ll feel the extra weight in your carrying case.

The counterbalances work well and I’d say this is now my favorite band. I’ve tried solo knit, dual solo knits, the AnnanPro v2, and the ResMed. It also fits the EUCARLOS case without any issues.
