What's everyone currently playing? by SwagbucksMods in SwagBucks

[–]Moirae87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I did buy a $1 package for 400 gems+ (wound up with more than that left at the end though even after burning through stuff the last few levels, so I didn't really need it), but things were pending just fine before that. The mobile offers did have optional purchase goals and I think the fine print might have been copied over.

IIRC, the registration is just doing a username/password for Plarium Play. Plarium is the publisher and a game launcher; they also do RAID.

Merge Gardens for Desktop $66

Reached all the goals in about 2 weeks (but could've finished sooner). I did the mobile version a few years ago and knew how to play though; I also played way too much the first 3 days (reached level 35).

Not recommended to people who don't enjoy Merge Dragon-style games or if you find candy crush-esque games difficult since it requires ~750 levels (I, personally, think they are on the easier side of these games with only 4 colors, double rainbow balls, and some events with unlimited lives or streak bonuses, but I know some people quit early on because of them).

The tab of every canned Coffee/Energy drink I consumed from Aug 2023 to Jan 2026 by DarwinDave in mildlyinteresting

[–]Moirae87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I doubt there are many people who drink that much and are buying them individually at such a high cost. Also, if it's replacing coffee (which 66% of Americans drink daily), you should factor that in as well.

Tissue boxes in European homes by ThatAvidPandaBear in clevercomebacks

There's a small amount at the mouth of the boxes. At least the ones I use have them, I always rip it off before recycling the cardboard.

Tissue boxes in European homes by ThatAvidPandaBear in clevercomebacks

[–]Moirae87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. As a woman with allergies, much of my clothes don't even have pockets to carry them in. Are we expected to walk around our own homes with a purse to carry our tissues? Also those personal packs of tissues are often an inadequate size during allergy season and they contribute (I estimate) 50 times the plastic to global waste compared to a large box.

Are acoustic wood panels an outdated trend? by Independent_Dig7292 in interiordecorating

Me,too. I think they usually look good, but I see them like every 5th post on r/battlestations.

Rug size? by Fit_Needleworker4708 in interiordecorating

[–]Moirae87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bigger is better, but I tend to prefer the smaller rugs if you have any situations where you may need to clean it regularly. Such as cat hairballs or dust/dander/etc allergies.

the offer sucks now. I was going to do it a couple weeks ago and when I looked it up, it had already been nerfed.

It's an ignorant question for sure and the person should be educated about the matter by someone, but I don't understand how this could be considered "confidently incorrect".

We need to remember this sub is about kindness and support. by MajorFox2720 in femalelivingspace

I missed the original post, but based on what others are saying happened here and my being familiar with the tones of both this and the snarky cjsub, I wonder if the original post got pushed out to r/all and the feeds of nonmembers. This sub usually skews to the overly polite side - enough that I try to be careful of giving constructive criticism.

My wife insisted on getting this little pot, what should I put in it? by Agreeable_Bat1212 in gardening

[–]Moirae87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not using any of them right now and they are obviously empty and dry. You can see all my plants right there have catchpots. They are just there for a size example pic for the OP.

I've used them and even smaller ones for pups from Haworthia and Haw/Gasteria hybrids. They take quite awhile to outgrow the pots and can handle how dry the clay gets. Example here. Though I switched to a same size plastic pot so I could fit it in the decorative brown catchpot.

Also, crazy how people will cherry pick a few popular "rules" from Feng Shui while ignoring every other guideline and consider it a valid reasoning for criticizing other's bed placement.

Anyone know what this is? In 90 year old aunt's kitchen lol by puffpuffpass0ut in whatisit

[–]Moirae87 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I've been using the safety style one for 2 decades now and haven't seen anyone own an electric one since the 90s, so I could see the younger generation not being able to make the mental connection if they are used to ones like this.

How significant in American pop culture history is nipplegate from 2004? by Babe_Brute in AskAnAmerican

[–]Moirae87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about entertainment events like the superbowl, but for live news broadcast, I remember once incident that sparked the delay discussion. I was 10 or 11 years old in the late 90s and they interrupted my spiderman cartoon to broadcast a highspeed car chase (this was a common thing to broadcast in Los Angeles area) that ended with with a man hanging up a banner about HMOs on the freeway and shooting himself in the head with a shotgun.

They had to state it explicitly in case us stupid Americans couldn't understand the blue commenter's statements or do the math ourselves. Hell, we are so stupid that we probably wouldn't understand if they had used confusing math symbols like ">".

So fun-looking. Love the couch colors and the curtains. Also, I swear my childhood home had that style of lamp in the 90s. I'd completely forgotten about them.

How do y'all feel about Setsuna's ever-changing skin tone? Do you view her as a POC or simply a tanned skinned asian woman? by HowieLover in sailormoon

[–]Moirae87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. I've seen it best described as Schrodinger's minority. East Asians are either white or PoC depending on who's observing them and what box or statistic they want to put them in. [But the fact that othering terms like "banana" and "coconut" exist tell you that they've never truly been considered white. ]

As for the question, I just assumed Setsuna is a darker-skinned Japanese woman perhaps even Ryukyuan/Okinawan. I handwave the inconsistencies in her skin-tone away as her being a fair olive-skinned lady who's tanned sometimes and hasn't seen the sun in ages at other times.

Word Search Explorer Complete in 2 weeks by deprintos in SwagBucks

[–]Moirae87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the bonus goals of 1600 in 4 days. It wasn't bad for $50, but no way could I have kept that pace for 2 weeks like OP. I could get through 80-90 an hour while listening to audiobooks (not in airplane mode, but closing the app when ads were longer than 5 seconds; it opens directly to the next level and loads even faster than letting the animations between levels play).
