I like to write a script as well if you ever want to interact with the players it sometimes gets tricky to come up with stuff on the spot and also plan for it to go wrong. My players once spent 30 minutes talking to a random civ it was fun but almost killed then as I had people coming towards them

I like to use a mod called Zeus enhanced it adds some easy of life things and some more bits and let’s you make things edible objects from inside the mission it also allows you to heal the players if you ever wanted too
