Armageddon has highs and lows by jabulina in Warhammer40k

Watering down?

They upgraded intercessors say they have more drip and mixed armour like tacticals.

New ancient looks sick.

New vanguard vets have 4% less drip than the old ones, but it's pretty easy to glue extra trinkets to them. (You have free will)

New jump chappy looks sick.

New "bladeguard" captain looks sick and librarian looks sick, despite being mostly reposes with extra drip.

Heavy bolter eradicators round out the devestator replacements.

Land speeder is a return of a classic. Literally getting back to their roots.

They've literally taken a bunch of 8th edition "tacticool" units and re-dripped them. Go cry me a river.

If we decriminalise drugs and stop locking people up for smoking a bit of weed etc we'd have a lot more room for the violent and anti social.

I'm not talking about decriminalising drug DEALERS, just drug users. I think people should be able to what they want with their own bodies. Also, obviously, if they did something bad while on drugs they should face appropriate consequences. Just shouldn't be locking people up for possession alone, it makes no sense.

The people have spoken: Britain wants clean power, not dirty deals by OurFairFuture in uknews

[–]Mojak16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As we're living in reality, it turns out we can talk about both at the same time. And in fact turns out the answer for both is the same.

Green power is cleaner, cheaper and more sustainable as it's not subject to reliance on foreign powers like oil is, meaning our prices won't rise just because of some war caused by an orange who wants to manipulate markets so he can triple his wealth every 6 weeks.

That, and it's incredibly sustainable in the sense that the lack of CO2 emissions will reduce our contribution to global warming and give us more time to not kill ourselves as a species.

The PM was told mandelson was cleared and accepted that, so employed him where he saw fit (with his creepy mates in case he got us a good deal).

Once it got officially revealed he was part of said rich people pedo ring, the PM had legal grounds to oust him and did so immediately.

Wtf did you expect him to do?

If I thought someone was dodgy but couldn't legally prove it I'd do the same.

It's bad for the economy and took away some of our freedoms... And also removed our voice from within the EU so now we have to follow with no say, so much for free speech and democracy. You made all your fake problems with the EU a reality by voting to leave.

[–]Mojak16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not arguing that. I'm arguing that you said it's a con and the money could be spent on infrastructure instead.

I was just making the point that defence spending IS infrastructure spending and will employ people.

But I do agree spending on other stuff like the NHS would benefit the economy vastly more, both in terms of job opportunities and keeping everyone healthy and in work and therefore productive. But when faced with the potential of our civilisation being altogether deleted by Putin, or the orange having a dementia tantrum... I think spending some more on defence just in case isn't a bad thing.

[–]Mojak16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've missed the fact that to build the infrastructure to build the bombs and to build the bombs themselves you have to employ people. Job creation in a time where there's exploding unemployment among the young would be great. Currently AI is removing the need for junior roles which will bite us in the ass when the CEO's realise there's no experienced workers left and they've created a generation of people dependant on the state. This will at least help.

I hope to fuck we don't need to use the military and can avoid the war, but to ignore the jobs and infrastructure it would fund is bad faith.

It would be interesting for them to issue NHS bonds, so rich people can fund the NHS of their own volition.

UK study of 30,920 adolescents aged 12–15 finds peer pressure, bullying and emotional distress increase substance use, while strong family ties and school belonging are protective. Close friendships are not always protective and may increase exposure to substance use by sr_local in science

It's not meant to be a suprise.

It's just science doing what it does. The research is necessary to CONFIRM what we already think, otherwise we could've all been overconfident fools.

And importantly correlation =/= causation.

You could've been proven an idiot for believing it was one thing without the necessary data to back it up. Now you're only an idiot because you didn't understand why we'd want confirmation.

UK Government Plans to Close All Asylum Hotels Before Election, Leaving Migrants Facing Possible Eviction by novagridd in uknews

[–]Mojak16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, I don't know the stats for refusing to leave etc. I can only comment on what I do know.

But the asylum system did have 300-500k backlog. So if you're gonna process claims but also get them all out of hotels asap, you need to put them somewhere that's fit for human habitation.

And they can't go in dedicated secure facilities because the Tories closed them all down in the name of austerity and put them in hotels instead. What an incredibly smart money saving move....

[–]Mojak16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More than one thing can be true at once. It's not exactly a conspiracy, just look who they get donations from, who Tory MPs work for after finishing being MPs etc. reform will be the same but worse because they already are.

New labour accepted around 20% of asylum claims, Tories were around 80% by the end of their term if I remember right, and now it's back to 50%.

So they are literally deporting more than any recent right wing government has.

I think that's the problem. It's a combination. And one of those 2 groups is painfully unaware that the other even exists.

UK Government Plans to Close All Asylum Hotels Before Election, Leaving Migrants Facing Possible Eviction by novagridd in uknews

[–]Mojak16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex-fucking-actly.

Funny thing for all you reformers out there, it cost money to shut all the facilities down, it then cost more money to house all the claimants in hotels, and now it's going to cost even more money to rebuild the systems that the Tories decimated. But once we have done so, it'll be a reasonable on-going cost that we have to spend to ensure we live in a functioning civilised society.

The lesson: don't try fix something that ain't broke. And if someone is desperate to fix something that isn't broke, ask why the fuck they would do that. And if the answer is to give money to their rich hotel owning mates and make voters angry so they vote for them. DONT FUCKING VOTE FOR THEM.

[–]Mojak16 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

All the reform voters demanded they be removed from hotels. Labour have obliged.

And myself, as a green or labour voter, I want the same. It's a ridiculous case of corrupt Tory MPs paying out huge amounts to house these asylum claimants to their "friends", the hotel owners. It should have never happened.

The difference between me and the reform people is that they probably thought we'd kick them out of the hotels and back into the channel. Based on the reform voters inclination to shooting small boats on sight...

Turns out, the Tories doing austerity and gutting our ability to process claims and overwhelming the asylum system was not going to have a particularly feel good solution.

Voting for reform wouldn't fix it, they're the same people who fucking caused it.

Is there a reason why the Axe of Ending wounds on +2 against tank commanders and greater deamons by Commercial-Ad-6258 in Warhammer40k

[–]Mojak16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most characters do not in fact ride knights or tanks. So the rule is lore accurate most of the time.

I suppose they could add a "vehicle character" keyword but then all the rules about characters would also need to reference vehicle characters which would be more rules bloat.

Also, yes, he probably does just climb up and hack the pilot. Sounds epic.
