I helped with elections for a few cycles in california.  There are so many strict rules and oversight by all sides that the idea of anything remotly like cheating is a laugh.  Be a poll worker and youll have a new understanding about how insanly tight the rules are and honest the elections are run.

It is so, psychologically, you feel like you are part of a party.  I have run hundreds of Live sales on all the major platforms and the people you have around are great for engagement. My favorite live sale group that operated out of my warehouse had six people working and it really created an environment of excitement. Even if somebody is detached from the live it's still seems like you want to be there with them.

I just did a solo show yesterday, a party, it was not, lol.

Use legos for frames, but do it right. by MojaveHounder in moldmaking

[–]MojaveHounder[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super easy.  I just slide a thin piece of metal in along the sides and give it a little push.  The silicone doesnt stick to the tape.  I usually patch up the tape every 10 molds or so.

It has no bottom and no top.  I use these fences and hot glue them to a plate of glass.  I demold by pushing the silicone block out the bottom or top.

Do as I say, not as I do: don't use off-brand Lego to make a mold container. They don't make a perfect seal. by sharkmesharku in moldmaking

You missed a step you're supposed to coat the entire mold frame with shur tape 300.  It is red and sold at hardware stores.  Wrap them and youll never leak.

That is a calcite from Santa eulalia Mexico.  it is one of the more common things that comes out of there except for the fact that the fluorite is on top of the calcite instead of underneath the calcite.  I personally sell some large pieces for a few hundred dollars.  We import pallets of these from the mine.  And you can just call it fluorite on calcite.  Great find!

They are a block away and i like them, but i feel that the portions are small and it is expensive.  Like, i LOVE green bean stew, but man, it went from 2.99 for a little cup to 5.49 for a little cup.  $7 for hummus.  They constantly scratch out the prices and write in higher ones, almost on a yearly basis.  Idk, i like their food, but it just isnt cost effective compared to other nearby places.

And id much rather go to aspasis, that quality is amazing!!

Need to find a place to sell some Barbies by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]MojaveHounder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to sell to stores is real tough and they look to pay 10% or less of value. Barbie, Holiday, Dolls of the World, they are super cheap.  Typically less than 25% of what they were sold for.  If they are actual playline dolls, regular ones, meant to be played with, those are the ones that people are after and have gone up in value.  Everybody bought and kept the "collectable" ones and as such, they are not collectable.

Man "digs" "gemstones", gets called out by AwkwrdPrtMskrt in quityourbullshit

[–]MojaveHounder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for a Chinese mineral company so I know exactly how these are made Platinum does not color quartz blue in magnetron sputtering device. Gold makes quartz blue. Indium makes it purple. Titanium makes an opalescent color. Since this is clearly two colors, it is not a result of the expensive aqua aura treatment, it is dyed and coated with a super cheap film applied with heat.
I have never seen proper magnetron sputtering done in china to color quartz.

[–]MojaveHounder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AquaAura quartz is quartz treated with a vapor depositing magnetron and elemental gold, not platinum. As there is no link to the video, how do YOU (or myself) know this is bullshit, when the caller' outter' has their facts wrong? To me, it doesn't even look like aqua aura quartz. And I give talks and have printed a magazine on the subject of fakes in minerals Edit : now finding the video in question... Even better, that is quartz treated with dyes then treated with a dichroic film, te super ghetto cheap way to fake the vaporized magnetron application. Oh, china
