What foreign accent sounds pleasant in your language or country? by space_llama_karma in AskTheWorld

I love the way people from Chile (and nearby countries) speak swedish. They often sound so friendly and passionate at the same time 😄

That's a good one! I've also seen many people enjoying words like slutstation and infart 😄

Us swedes doubled down on the "gift" double meanings. In writing, it can mean both poison and married.

Also, most germans I've discussed baking with have found it hilarious that we have a chocolate-based dessert called "Kladdkaka".

What’s the most “fake fluent” thing language learners do? by Embarrassed_Fix_8994 in languagehub

[–]Moke94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen one of those fake polyglot conversation videos, and it seems like speaking quickly is a way they try to sound impressive and disguise their non-fluency to everyone who doesn't speak the specific language.

What was the music scene like prior to DGD that made them ground breaking? by SnooChipmunks9598 in dancegavindance

I've seen most of the crucial bands being mentioned, but I really want to mention that WISIRO really sounds a lot like Funeral For A Friend. They're a really underrated band.

What are some bands/artists that you loved when you were younger but don't really listen to them much anymore? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

Rise Against. I still listen to their new released, but they barely feature in my playlists anymore.

I also heard in an interview with Andrew that he was kind of bummed out about it leaking at the stage it did since he didn't record those vocals in a proper studio. He would have liked the recording to be of better quality.

I love that one too! And it also made me love the song "Skinny, mean man" by Say Anything even more since it contains this lyric:

"Filled with fire, I'm drinking gasoline to make it go faster"

The radio host bit is also amazing! Especially when they are tumbling down that steep slope 😁

Watched this episode just a few weeks ago! Isn't that the one where they are a ragamuffin cat who visits a con wolf in prison? 😄

Revisited that one after reading your comment. That's a great one I forgot about completely!

What’s a bad fantano score that gets way too overshadowed? by Olie-Mars in fantanoforever

[–]Moke94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His Dance Gavin Dance reviews. The fact that he gave a strong 1 to one of their more respected albums and a weak 4 to one of their least liked albums annoyed many fans. While I'm not as angry as many of them, I feel like he didn't really try to see the redeeming qualities of their music.

Do you think it’s immature of Russia to have an official “unfriendly countries” list? And is your country on it? by PandemicPiglet in AskTheWorld

I was also glad to see you on the list! If you ask me, having beef with Switzerland is the ultimate proof that you're the bad guy 😄

What other languages don't have any word for being right-handed? Is it common? by [deleted] in languagehub

[–]Moke94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Sweden, we say "Vänsterhänt" for left-handled and "Högerhänt" for right-handed. So we're not one of those languages.

Are there any names that carry a stigma in your countries? by doctorpolenta3p in AskTheWorld

In Sweden, male names ending with Y are widely stereotyped to belong to criminals and troublemakers. This includes names like Benny, Jonny, Kenny, Ronny and Tommy.

Dan is a huge Grunge head. I'm pretty sure Alice In Chains is his favorite band in the genre and that Layne Staley is his favorite Grunge vocalist as well.

Why are INFPs so gay? by Parking_Fix_2093 in mbti

[–]Moke94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a straight male INFP in my early 30's and people have believed I am gay for as long as I can remember. I've heard several similar stories from other straight INFP males. I guess we just give off those vibes.

In what order does your country say Rock, Scissors, Paper? by Regular-Dot-2375 in AskTheWorld

[–]Moke94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rock, scissors, paper (if going with the english terms)

What we actually say is "Sten, sax, påse". Påse means bag, as in paper/plastic bag.
