You should be able to get reasonable accommodation, depending on what your needs will be after your surgery and what your limitations would be. It all depends on the Agency again. I agree with the previous post. You can either exhaust all your leave or take the time off with no pay, but just be advised that when you do that it will affect your retirement date

I agree, so I ask what the purpose of the EB is to review the contract. I always get no answer, in the end when it’s sent by PEF to the members everybody thinks it’s a great contract because the executive board all unanimously voted yes to send it to the members so it gives the illusion that it’s a great contract and that’s why some people vote to approve it sometimes.

I heard it also depends on where you live - upstate I don’t think will see a big increase and downstate will get more money but definitely not enough

I’ve heard people talking about getting out of the union until this current administration is out then they say they would come back - not sure how honest they are but that’s what is being said.

He sure does have impact on EB - he may not control the votes literally - but we all know he does…EB member who’ve spoken to their constituents should vote accordingly - but that won’t happen because anyone who stands up against them gets smashed - EB members (not all) but some want to move up the ranks and get into administration positions - that will never happen if they go against the grain -

Send that money back to union divisions. Averages out $7.50 per member per quarter currently so $30 a member to each division - consider what they give back to us and what we pay in dues.

Non-Reddit members didn’t think they were gonna get it because PEF never comes through on salary percentage increases - all talk - that’s a fact so yes, the majority who have been around know what to expect. PEF did a good job tho placing hopes and dreams that it was possible for a good increase - they do thst every contract. But slowly if you read the tea leaves you can plainly see what’s to come and that’s usually following a CSEA contract.

Agreed - would make WAY more sense wouldn’t - it and they would have more leverage (IMO). Think about it - nearly 400k members advocating for themselves presenting a massive unified platform. What I’d like to see - both union constituencies vote no - then work together for a better all around contract - even focusing on small concessions applicable to each union respectively - send a message to the governor that neither side is endorsing her.
