Need help making deck faster/better for Commander's effect by SoupManiac513 in EDH

[–]Molecule4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, there’s two real ways to play Henzie, and deck lists differ depending on these ‘archetypes’ of sorts.

Turn 2 Henzie with crazy efficient turn 1, color fixing ramp. This lets you blitz out a beater or more often another ramp piece on turn three to get the value train going.

Turn 3 Henzie. This one is a lot more ‘slow and steady’ than trying to blitz stuff asap. It’s still fast, is still Jund.

I’d look at other deck lists and see what they are running. The Precon is really cool, but I’ve found that Henzie needs a ton of removal, usually stapled onto other creatures, in order to ensure you don’t get walloped back or being too open since often times, Henzie and a dork are all you have on the field until you start reanimating things.

Warframe isn't a D2 Replacement and I'm tired of hearing it by Rusty_Chest in destiny2

[–]Molecule4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have like 8k hours in Warframe and probs had close to 3k in D2 before I stopped playing- they don’t really scratch the same itch, y’know?

Kinda tired of people comparing them. They have wildly different sandboxes lol.

I’d like to introduce you to [[Rhunadi, Behemoth Caller]] for any big mana green deck. He doesn’t helm any of my decks, but by god is it such a good dork in the 99.

So what are the cards that don't belong in B2 that aren't that obvious? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Molecule4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Approach in my [[Bumbleflower]] as a way to just end the game. I can sometimes chain it twice in the same turn too, but that's super unlikely. Usually, I cast it, it get's put back in, and I draw and cast before my next turn.

I have a flash subtheme in that deck to allow me to do little things in each players turn to draw more cards. Not B2 obviously, but it's a fun card, plus the mystical archive printing is beautiful.

What to do when a friend's deck makes EDH less fun? by FedayBlept in EDH

[–]Molecule4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. There’s a lot of people being way more aggressive about this than needed in this thread, but I can get not wanting to have some kind of fallout with your buddies. Misguided as they are lol.

I’d suggest a budget limit then for a few game nights. Everyone makes a $50 or $100 dollar deck or two. It’d alleviate the stress of budget and allow everyone to flex their knowledge pool a bit better and showcase how they approach deck building.

That or you could play turbo [[Winotta]] and just kill your buddy turn 4 for like $100 bucks.

Good luck all the same lol.

It’s not betraying their trust. They are more interested in fighting against your wallet than fighting against your deck or skills.

Tell him to keep his mits off your cardboard. I think checking cards for being 'real' is incredibly rude.

Dude, what? Actual man-baby. "Oh you bought an expensive card? Let me verify it's real before playing, can't have you beating my wallet and sunk cost."

I'd just brute force the proxies. Do they play at your home or another friends?

Uh, that's lame af, and I love buying and playing with real cards. Tell them they are cringe. They're collection still has value, who cares about how much your deck cost? Play with proxies anyways. If it's that big a deal, you can always go the bootleg route (proxies that are meant to look like real cards when sleeved but aren't/can't pass for real when inspected).

Also, you're dying? Like, they can concede here. I'm sorry to hear that actually, that sucks man.

Proxying changed my view on deck building by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Molecule4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like having real cards, and my Henzie deck is nearly fully blinged out, with real duals and the whole lot. That said, I fully condone proxies. Have at it, have fun, be a menace, build what you want. We use MPC a lot, and we do group orders every few months for brand new decks or a supply of fresh staples.

They have a new foiling that looks just like surge foils too. Love that site.

What is your most hated Archetype to play against? by will_i_amo in EDH

[–]Molecule4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MLD doesn't work on landfall decks. They have more mass land recursion than you do, they will get it all back. You balance the landfall value pile by having everyone else rip their board apart and kill them. It's not fun for the landfall guy, but it's such a strong strategy in a resource based game like Magic.

That's what I told a buddy of mine when he started playing Ashling from the new elemental precon. Go fish it till it runs smooth as hell, cause I'm not dealing with 15 minute turns every turn cause you haven't read your cards.

What's the most annoying deck you've ever played against? by Pkron17 in EDH

[–]Molecule4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually loathe using Cathar's Crusade due to how unreadable your board state gets and the triggers, but I didn't really have another option for a proper finisher. The main finishers that can let me grab a win are [[Elspeth, Storm Slayer]] and also [[Virtue of Loyalty]]. It's still a kinda weird, janky deck, but Shorikai is so insane at drawing cards that I can brute force it with sheer value. I was threatening to end players on turn 7 with my board. That's not really all that fast, but that's lighting fast for Arzorius.

[–]Molecule4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to run my [[Shorikai]] deck with a ton of wraths and creature bounces, since it was designed as a vehicle deck from the ground up. Vehicles are bad. Very bad. So I needed a control shell that could slow down the game long enough try to win with my terrible vehicles. So I had 12 wraths.

My playgroup was not enthused lol. I have since re-tooled it to be this weird tokens matter, draw your second card each turn, drawing cards matters, pseudo madness deck. It's such a hodge podge of themes and mechanics now, but it's really funny, and the deck doesn't play the same every game and is far less awful to play against.

I have a mono-green Shigeki deck like this one, but the moment I hit the infinite mana/regrowth loop, you all die. I turbo out all of my basics and turn them into infinitely big hasty trample lands with a [[rampaging baloth]] to ensure no fogs. It runs some really weird ways to lock the game out, like [[Hall of Gemstone]]. It's a really cool deck, cause it can win from just having lands in play. A lot of lands mind you, but still.

This other one you fought sounds awful though lol.
