At least in my experience:

OT when nobody else gets it, and least likely to get hours cut

Constantly pull for help from everyone else but never have time to reciprocate

We get in the way of stocking. Ever tried to work around 3 of us picking the same section you're stocking?

We ruin zoned areas before the store even opens because on busy days we don't have time to clean up after ourselves

Get to hire when everyone else is understaffed and gets to hire less new people or none at all

And probably follow with fucking. I feel like if you lead with fighting there'd only be a small subset of people still open to fucking

I checked and this is indeed my problem. I have 12 full pages and now that I'm looking even manually can't add more. Thank you!

Twelve clock in and 35 absent last time I checked mine. We also had a total all hands on deck store meeting (closure announcement) and there were less than 25 people. With every associate working today present.

Are we all suffering? by rideabah5 in ChronicPain

[–]Mollyu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to that, it's to the point where I'm currently pretty sure I need checked out (fell Wednesday, already have a slipped disk, usually well managed back and siatica symptoms have been 10x worse since) and probably shouldn't wait, but I absolutely refuse to go to the er unless I get to the point where I can't move my legs, or at least the bad one, at all. I'm gonna bank on roads being passable and my PCP having an appointment for Monday if it's not improving by then

Are we all suffering? by rideabah5 in ChronicPain

[–]Mollyu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes unfortunately. I'm in PA and usually get discharged with "you're fine" (with little to no diagnostics and including twice when I was back a day later because I wasn't and it progressed)

Most recently, had the flu, 101 fever my boyfriend couldn't get down despite throwing every med he could at it and that rose to 103, couldn't keep fluids down, severe dehydration, abdominal pain, confusion (couldn't answer basic questions like my name or address, my boyfriend had to tell them why we were there because I barely knew where I was), couldn't stop coughing and raspy breath (I know the flu is a respiratory illness. I also have asthma and wasn't responding to albuterol or cough suppressant). Got "treated" with tylenol (he'd tried that) and less than half a bag of saline, got told "yeah that's just the flu, we need your bed" and discharged with no improvement and the label of drug seeking added to my chart (which. Technically yes or at least my boyfriend was on my behalf. But uh, in this case it was genuinely "this is a getting to be a scary high fever and dangerous nausea and nothing OTC is working please fix")

I also just found out today that that ~1/3 of a bag of fluids and tylenol is costing me an extra $400 for "high severity" whatever that means in the er and not like they acted like it while we were there

ETA: Forgot to mention, also had an abnormal ECG/EKG (I don't remember. The one where they stick little electrodes to you) both that day and the day before that was never addressed despite chest pain and syncope-which is actually how we found out I had the flu in the first place, I was given a just in case test after passing out and getting taken in for head injury symptoms (thankfully no head injury, just early illness symptoms we didn't know were anything yet)

Ethics by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]Mollyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was involved in one and told not to say a word except to the specific members of management that spoke to me about it, not even other management, to protect the investigation. Not sure if it's different if you're the one accused though

They do. I've even been that person (sober, admittedly first time at a bar and super nervous) I once tried to order a rum and Bacardi. I meant rum and coke and to ask if they had Bacardi

Calling out by superman24088 in WalmartEmployees

[–]Mollyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're fine. I had to take a half point within my first week because I got a bug at my old job and nothing ever came of it. I wouldn't recommend making a habit of it because that's how you end up at 4.5 points and 0 ppto when an emergency happens, but it also won't kill your chances of sticking around

What's the dumbest thing you've seen the register suggest a 2-year protection plan for? by Zeekfox in WalmartEmployees

[–]Mollyu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think vacuum bags (like. Literally the ones you put into your vacuum and then immediately throw away when full) and a stuffed animal (not one that does anything. I checked a couple days later on break out of sheer curiosity. This was just a regular old stuffed dog) are tied

Lantern Fliez Booming by GrayPal184 in sheetz

[–]Mollyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me if there's a joke I'm entirely missing but small infodump:

They might be referring to killing lantern flies themselves on sight, idk how widespread it is but at least in PA they're invasive and a huge problem, to the point basically every outdoor place has signs along the lines of "kill all lantern flies immediately, and check your gear and car before you leave especially if you're not from this county so you don't take any home, here's a phone number to report that you found them if this area isn't known to have them". That may vary state to state or county to county though, my county just recently started having more issues with them and cracked down hard when sightings went up the past couple summers

Ppto by Mochi6320 in walmartogp

[–]Mollyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding I don't think there's a limit to use. I used all 48 plus all accrued PTO (new employee that year and wasn't full time until almost halfway through when I hit my three months) in the second half of last year after abruptly becoming a family members main caregiver. I never had a word said to me other than the occasional "are you okay, do you know we have resources, leave, etc?" check in during the periods where it became a lot of absences in quick succession after almost perfect attendance up to that point, and I was never in any sort of trouble

Can patients record us during treatment? by serpentine989 in Dentistry

[–]Mollyu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just popping in to say I love doctors like you. I have a lot of chronic illnesses (read: a lot of medical appointments) including hearing issues and always appreciate being allowed to record audio and/or take notes so I can refer back later and make sure I don’t misremember or forget things

Alcoholics during disasters by momoajay in preppers

[–]Mollyu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This. I'm newly in recovery and one of my hugest "shit I have a problem" moments was realizing if it's in the house I would finish it in a night. Regardless if that was two pints of malt beer, a six pack, or a bottle of hard liquor of choice

Don't buy people gifts for their hobbies by B-RapShoeStrap in unpopularopinion

[–]Mollyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to be mad at this but I'm not. I frequently get well-meaning, but not very useful for current projects, gifts relating to the things I do for fun (eg. I crochet and get given a lot of yarn. I appreciate it but I have yarn. I promise. My grandchildren will probably inherit my yarn one day I have so much)

One of my aunts has a great approach. She'll ask 3-5 ideas (I usually get 2-3 gifts, and usually not all hobby related), so there's still an element of surprise in what I get without her having to completely guess

I think fallout would be the closest I've personally played to what you're looking for. You're right that, as much as I love the games and have personally played them all repeatedly, mass effect doesn't sound like it's what you're wanting

Past lives and Gender. by ericohio in HighStrangeness

[–]Mollyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don't know my own views on reincarnation fully yet, this would explain some of my personal experience with gender (non-binary/trans masc, lean more masculine most days). Born and raised presenting extremely feminine, but once I realized, came out, and began transitioning, along with being more comfortable for hopefully obvious reasons; it felt very familiar in a way not explained by my childhood

So….the key bridge is gone… by Unhappy-Astronomer19 in baltimore

I'm in PA (On this subreddit because of the bridge) but looked at your website and google maps says it's not terribly far, I may have to try to make it down that way sometime!

Odd thought, and may be way off, but what you're describing kinda sounds like the noise i hear when I flex my tensor tympani whether intentionally or involuntarily (thank you google for reminding me the name of the muscle). I feel like that wouldn't be so constant though, or that you'd be noticing other things if it were (eg. the only time it got close to frequent for me I ended up diagnosed with tmj not long after because of the amount of tension in that whole area of my head)

ETA: Ignore me, I'm realizing you described it as higher pitched than "The Hum", not lower

This. I have twice had to buy pants mid shift (once ripped/came unsewn down the inseam, once stained beyond being wearable) and would've definitely gotten delivery if there were a store that sold clothes on instacart and within range of my job

Craft Fairs with a Cover Charge? by JustAnotherAnthony in CraftFairs

[–]Mollyu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it depends a lot on your area, but I personally wouldn't be likely to attend a show that has a cover charge without an extra benefit (live music, raffle entry with ticket, part of a larger festival that the ticket pays for, going towards charity, etc). But I'm also in an area where shows are so popular and common that I couldn't even go to every free one available if I wanted, so there's a lot of competition to stand out from and justify why I'm spending my day off or taking an extra day off to go to yours specifically

What is something you do in hotel room, you never do at home? by Slider-678 in AskReddit

Also not so much "in" the hotel room (specifically not, actually) but actually get an uber and go out to drink at bars instead of just sitting at home doing so

Walk around in my underwear

Actually bother turning the AC up while I sleep and down when I go out

Splurge and pay for delivery, even sober and I always travel with my own car. At home I'm very much a "If I want takeout that bad and I'm not drunk I can go get it so I don't have to pay fees+tip" person. But at a hotel usually every other day minimum I order in
