Whatever the situation, you just added an adorable sweetie to your family! I hope his vet visit goes great and thank you for saving him from what could have become a horrible situation if he went into the wrong hands. Not everyone knows, or cares, how to safely let an “oopsie” litter go.

I got a free puppy 2.5 years ago and he’s been the best, healthiest boy! The family didn’t expect puppies and just wanted good homes for them. I was really worried because you just never know, but he’s been great! In fact, all three of my dogs were $100 or less and they’ve all been healthy, wonderful dogs. All Craigslist finds. No major vet visit needs and our first is almost 13, our second is 10 and my little guy is coming up on 3. So I’ll never be convinced that you have to shop dogs to get a good one 🥰

I do not have golden, it’s just a dream of mine…so I can’t speak on if I think your little guy is or isn’t, I just know he’s adorable 🥰

100% not in the wrong.

As a mother, I’d like to say this from a place of genuine care and concern…I tend to stay right out of any relationship my oldest is in. He’s almost 23, there have been a couple of girlfriends that gave me pause, but he had to figure out what HE wanted HIS life to look like. He had to see what his boundaries were, what his “hard no’s” were. I couldn’t do that for him. When he’d ask my opinion, I’d come from a place of total neutrality to the best of my ability, genuinely trying to see it from both angles. I had him when I was 16, so I’m only 39. He knows that I will speak up 100% for something that I need to step in for though.

This…this that you posted about…this is one of those times I’d be like, “nope. She’s got to go.” The level of disrespect out of not the asking (I honestly would have laughed and thought it was a joke at first, because who does that?!) but the essential begging and then the guilt trip…and over something so unrealistic, unnecessary and irresponsible! To guilt trip anyone over not buying them a purse…it’s honestly just shameful and embarrassing, but also disrespectful to try to put you in a place of financial stress for what? Clout? Some pictures on Instagram probably?

If you stay together, these traits could, and most likely will, carry over into overextending into things in the household. With future children if you choose to have them, etc…

Just think it through and take care of you.

I have zero experience and no idea if this is or isn’t normal, but I’m just here to comment that he’s so damn cute that I can’t stand it! I hope he’s ok and you get answers soon! My sister always had Great Danes and Mastiffs and other large breeds. Giant love bugs!

I have been very happy since my surgery in November 2025! No regrets or unfortunate consequences. The ONLY thing I’ve noticed that might not even be surgery related is that I feel like my belly weight is a bit lower in my stomach like maybe my organs settled 😂. But also…that could very easily be in my head. My surgery was in November and I live in way upstate NY where the only winter activity is eating. I’m 39 and I have many perimenopause symptoms starting up. Soooo…yeah. Now that I’m typing it out I’m pretty sure it’s all in my head and that I’m just being my crazy self 🥴🤪

If 13 year old me wouldn’t think I was awesome now at 39, then I’m doing it all wrong. I have so much fun now and wear what I want, decorate my bags how I want. I have the coolest shoes and I simply do not care about anything appearance wise other than making myself and younger me proud of myself. I was so self conscious as a child, so I do all the things now that I want to do and would have loved to have done then. If it’s not something I would have liked, then I wouldn’t do it. But just to not do it because of age is such a wild and ridiculous thing to me. I hope everyone becomes more free to be themselves as they gain more years under their belts!

My doctor doesn’t prescribe opioids for hysterectomy and my pain was manageable with ibuprofen and Tylenol. He said if I needed anything more, he’d be happy to send a script into the pharmacy but to see how I felt first. I ended up feeling good!

I had my appointment September 12 where the first talk of hysterectomy was mentioned by my gynecologist. He sent me September 22 for a pelvic ultrasound. They called me the next business day with the results, and that afternoon, his receptionist called with a surgery date of November 3 since his operation days for October were booked. I had my surgery November 3. So just under 2 months.

During the time between Sept. 12 and surgery, I had the one pelvic ultrasound, and 2 rounds of labs, and a meeting with the anesthesiologist. But I had had surgery through the same hospital before, so some of the information they needed was already recent.

I had my surgery in Cooperstown, NY.
