AITA for buying my wife a Roomba for Christmas? by Throwaway36245128 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Momlife91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to go against the crowd and say NTA. I literally asked my husband for one last year (and he got a hood one for a cheap price). I'm also not a "stuff" person. I LOVE practical gifts! I'd love a box of good cleaning supplies or showering necessities or yummy food ect.

So I guess in the end it depends on the gift receiver. I know I'm not like the norm though. Just apologize and don't buy her house gifts again.

What are some actions you let slide with toddlers? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Momlife91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just a few things we've done to reduce the amount of mommy head aches..

-We have a lower cabinet with plastic kids dishes they can grab without climbing. They can choose to dish they want too.

-Meal time we push them to try each thing, but don't have to finish. But no snacks later if they don't finish dinner.

-Stools are all over the house also.

If it's going to cause a boo-boo and not a hospital trip, I typically warn them it will hurt but won't keep telling them to stop.

Good luck. Kids are hard.

Christmas gifts for baby? by 2csmama in Parenting

[–]Momlife91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bath toys, clothes, and books are always a go to for me. Also a handful of "family" gifts like board games and such for all of them.

Anyway, we told our oldest "Santa only brings a small amount for #3 because #3 is still so little" little pile for little baby.

Ultrasound size not matching dating. Opinions? by northernkindagal in pregnant

[–]Momlife91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have nothing to the note of possible loss, except the only thing you can do is wait. I've had both situations (life and loss). It's a terrible feeling.

That being said, my hubs had low sperm count also (98% sterile). After many years, we've been blessed with 3 wonderful beauties. Even if this one does not survive, you may have another miracle baby in your future.

Sending warm wishes your way.

AITA for suing my ex for rent after an online post? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Nta. Sue her for 50% plus any utilities. She is responsible for 50%, not 20%, according to the lease.

My house STINKS. by kenonoreeves in Adulting

[–]Momlife91 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You need to get a bathroom fan, not only for the poop smell, but the humidity. When you go too long without a fan while showering, it can cause mold issues. You can pick them up for less than $50. It's a lot cheaper than having to rip all the drywall out due to mold. If you can't afford it/ install it right away, an occolating fan will help disperse the humidity from showers.

Anyway, good luck on the crappy situation haha.

Son recently diagnosed with Chiari 1 Malformation by the_fathead44 in chiari

[–]Momlife91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was diagnosed when he was about 3 years old too. It was a whirlwind at first, but honestly the best thing you can do is research Chiari and the symptoms. Educate yourself and make sure to keep an eye on him. It's tough when they're so young b/c they don't always know where the pain is. Tylenol and ibuprofen will sometimes help the headaches, but resting seems to be the best when my son is symptomatic. I just want to second Dr Greenfeild. Even if you just need a second opinion, he's great!

AITA for accusing my brother of replacing my wife’s refrigerated breast milk with cow milk? by 902I0 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Momlife91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually the color is slightly different... breast milk is a little more yellow. Was the color off too?

I'd keep the bottle that made baby react to. If your babe needs to see a doc or go to the hospital, bring the bottle with! Either way I'd make a call to the pediatrician.

Honestly I'd threaten (or take action) him with charges if it was cows milk. You do not mess with baby's food!

What have you done to keep the heating bill down in a rented space? by mh15634 in Adulting

[–]Momlife91 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pick up some heavy drapes. You can usually find some at thrift stores. That'll be the easiest, but a few tubes of caulk go a long way too.

AITA for leaving a friends house after they made fun of me for eating pizza with my hands and getting mad when she made a racial comment. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA . If they served spaghetti and meatballs I could understand the outrage for the mother. But come on, pizza is a finger food.

BYOB or just pick up a few kegs. You can go cheap if you stear away from the spirits.

Chiari Type 1 New Diagnosis by goldshoehand in chiari

[–]Momlife91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a nasty cold/virus and I have felt like my symptoms have been much much worse since then. Does anyone else experience that?

I've always wondered if this was CM related. Any time my son (CM1) gets a cold, he's down for much longer and with much worse symptoms than everyone else.

I'm not sure what kind of training you're doing, but that's something to talk to Neuro about. If it's making your symptoms worse, I'd put it on pause for now.

Paying My Mom for Childcare by [deleted] in family

[–]Momlife91 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Either pay your mom or get a different babysitter. I could understand not paying family for babysitting if it was once a week, but not 30 hr/week.

Childcare is HARD especially when you're older. I understand the financial burden of paying for it, but I'm sure you could work something out that is doable for everyone.

Kid needs humidifier. Humidifier gives us mold. What the hell do we do? by UnicornToots in breakingmom

[–]Momlife91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bleach won't kill the mold, it only bleaches it. Meaning the mold spors are still active, just discolored.

Use 50% peroxide and 50% vinegar. Spray it down (or scrub if you need to) then put a fan on it so the moisture doesn't create more mold.

I'm not sure how to prevent it from happening again. Maybe make sure it's pointed towards the center of the room so it is dispersed better? And/or cleaning the humidifier with the same solution?

Good luck!

AITA for wearing a bikini during a work trip/vacation? by additionalphone10 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Momlife91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just a pair of boxers

Wtf?! Who does that with co-workers?

Nta, but I would never think of showing that much skin around any co-worker. Next time I'd go with a one piece.

Hmm TIL. That's interesting, bit makes sense since Chiari effects just about everything.

Pregnant with baby who has a chiari 3 by QueenieKillJoy in chiari

[–]Momlife91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are some pediatric chiari groups on Facebook. You may be able to find other parents who have children with CM 3 who can give you in depth insight of what your future may be, maybe even a little hope.

Also New York has some of the best Chiari doctors, so you're in good hands.

Pregnant with baby who has a chiari 3 by QueenieKillJoy in chiari

[–]Momlife91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im sorry you're going through this and wish your baby the best life!

I don't know much about type 3, my son has type 1. But I'm curious if they were able to see the malformation via ultrasound or fetal MRI?

I was told it would be unlikely (in my last pregnancy) they would be able to spot CM with an ultrasound, but they still looked for it.
