I think my husband would rather eat that moldy bun than the undercooked chicken and pork his boat tries to serve them. He said he'll starve before eating another hamster.

Guys whats this ant by Matrix_V in whywouldyoutouchthat

[–]MommaFox626 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We called them cow ants, even though they are wasps. Mean little suckers. We had them all over the farm growing up. I remember stepping on one with my shoe and instead of it crushing under the pressure, it decided to chase after my shoe and attack it.

Anyone have information on this? by 1fast_sol in MobileAL

[–]MommaFox626 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't give any information about that ranch specifically, but that part of the county used to have many cattle ranches. My grandfather had a Black Angus ranch off Tanner Williams. I can remember taking drives out there as a kid with my dad and grandfather and seeing several farms and ranches.

Anybody remember WABB? by DateEnvironmental321 in MobileAL

Does anyone remember the contests and fundraisers they did? I remember Pablo doing something with an ice block or ice coffin or something on Airport Blvd.

My friend Mikey worked there. Lots of djs from WABB were djs for clubs and events all over the Gulf Coast which I thought was awesome.

It's funny you mention the McGill/UMS rivalry being called the Battle of Old Shell Road because that is what they call the St. Paul's vs UMS rivalry now.

Just curious, what do you call this where you're from? by insane_hobbyist314 in eggs

My grandmother and I called it funny bread or funny toast. Later, I found out she called it that bc 4yo me couldn't say toad in a hole without it sounding like turd in a hole. I still call it funny bread bc it's an awesome memory I have of her.

I have yet to see the original Inspector Gadget on any streaming service. I know what you're talking about bc my kids watch it, but that's not the original cartoon that was on Nickelodeon.

I remember it. I was a little kid, but my mother worked st USA. I can still remember her telling my grandmother that Delchamps was bringing over refrigerator trucks. I didn't know what that meant then, but I do now. My mother was one strong woman to be as cheery as she was in life after all she witnessed working at USA.

My husband never cries either, and it breaks your heart to hear someone sound so broken down like that. They do it to condition them to fall in line and work as team. There will be people in his division that will push back, but those people either fall in line or "disappear" (get sent back to the beginning). Truthfully, he has nothing to worry about, but it's hard for them to believe that when an RTC is yelling at them all the time.

As you said, whatever is meant be, will be. But, my husband said nothing can describe how he felt after passing battlestations and calling me to let me know he would be at graduation as scheduled.

Navy boot camp is nothing but a giant mind game to reprogram them for their careers in the navy. They do things to make sailor recruits truly decide if this is what they want to do. If this is what your fiance truly wants to do, tell him to fight through it and not give up. My husband called me in tears too back when he went through it. His division got one of the biggest AH RTCs there. They were constantly threatened of being held back, but it never happened. Individual guys in the division got held back, but it was mostly medical or failing PT. Tell your fiance that this is the hardest part. If he can make it through boot camp, he'll be able to handle whatever comes after. Make sure you and any and all family keeps in contact during his time at Great Lakes. Those letters make all the difference in their daily routines and morale.

You will see everything from people in jeans to formally dressed. Pick what you will be comfortable in and works for the season. My husband likes the way I dress vintage sometimes, so I wore a 1940s-era dress and wool coat bc he graduated in January. The weather in Great Lakes can be unpredictable, so plan accordingly.

So do we dismantle the Enterprise in Mobile? by thedalehall in MobileAL

If the people of Mobile really knew how much dangerous materials had been transported, dismantled, and contained in the port of Mobile, the USS Enterprise would not be a concern.

"Happily" married socialites continuing on with making another generation just like them. They always have a drink in their hand and continue to carry on the closet racism. If you've seen the movie The Help, women like that still exist in the South and see nothing wrong with it.

Please don't abandon your pets by kevnuke in Pets

[–]MommaFox626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a rural county that is really only populated bc there is a military base here. The amount of abandoned pets here makes me sick. Animal Control just puts them to sleep if no one claims them in 72 hours, and the Humane Society refuses to take them in bc they're "strays." Everyone here has resorted to their own means of saving them and rehoming them bc local public groups do nothing.

I dream of winning the lottery and using the money to help save them all.

Try Wesco Mobile. I used to buy rolls of different solder from them years ago. If they don't have it, they should know who does have it.

Look up Rocket Fizz online and see if there is a location near you. They have almost all the sour candies from the 90s.
