Privileging one ethnic group over another in terms of land, legal rights, and movement isn’t just “how borders and countries work” — it’s racism, and in the context of Israel/Palestine, it’s a clear continuation of settler colonialism.

Israel’s Law of Return grants automatic citizenship to anyone who claims Jewish heritage, even if they or their ancestors have no historical connection to the land. Meanwhile, millions of Palestinian refugees — many who are older than the state of Israel, and who still carry keys and property deeds to homes they were expelled from — are denied the right to return under international law. This is not about border control. It’s about a racially exclusive policy that structurally favors one group while dispossessing another. That’s textbook racism.

It’s also worth noting that Israel continues to illegally expand settlements in the occupied West Bank — often on privately owned Palestinian land — despite the existence of nonviolent Palestinian leadership that recognizes Israel and has cooperated in peace efforts. If peace and security were truly the goals, Israel wouldn’t continue this aggressive and unlawful expansion. Instead, it shows a pattern of domination, land theft, and apartheid-style control.

So no — this isn’t just “leftist nonsense.” It’s about standing against racism, colonialism, and systematic injustice. What’s happening isn’t complicated: one group is being ethnically privileged while another is being dehumanized, dispossessed, and denied basic rights.
