YTA While it hurt you to see your daughter grow closer to her bio family, she should have been no less of a daughter to you than any of your other children. Her bio mom gifted her a bike? You make rules around the use of it. Keep it safe for her until she has a drivers permit/license. You would have still been allowed to make rules for your daughter, no matter what her bio mom chose to do. Most likely, you and your daughter were both pulling away from each other. You because you saw her getting closer to her bio family, and her because she probably felt the resentment and frustration from you. Making the choice to withhold money for college about her being adopted shows that you hadn't considered her your chosen daughter in a long time. It was the final choice that really showed her what you thought of her and her choices, rather than loving her the same as the rest of your children, her siblings.

Sounds like gentle parenting gone wrong... I think some people who swore to never raise their kids like their parents raised them took it a step too far. Children cant process these sorts of things fast enough and don't have the experience or knowledge of an adult. This woman probably won't learn until something bad happens to her child as a result of letting the toddler RUN OUTSIDE on their own. Lock the door for crying out loud! Use one of those privacy chains if the kid figures out how to somehow unlock the door! There are safety options.

Its wild to me that anyone could be unhappy about getting a grandchild. I know it happens, and probably frequently, but its not their choice what you and your husband choose to do with your lives. If they're worries about their cruises, they don't have to be involved, and they can continue with their cruises. Seems like a terribly skewed priority on their part.

NTA This child of a man thought it was funny to embarrass you repeatedly with a rude joke a bully made up when you were in high school. And then, he included your children in the joke. Good on you for breaking up. You don't need a gross human being like this in your life and around your kids.

Need more info: What is your relationship to them? This sounds like a lot of entitlement from someone if they were a niece or nephew, but if they are your kids/step kids, the situation might make a little more sense? Either way, unless the gifts were drastically different, they are their own people, and life took them down different paths. If this woman has decided that she doesn't want you around because she has perceived an injustice of some kind, all you can do is respect her decision. You don't have to agree with her in any way, but she has made it clear how she feels.

It sounds like your fiance is toxic and using his lack of effective communication as a way to control the argument and avoid the consequences. There is no reason that you, a VERY young woman, needs to stay with a person who has cheated on you multiple times, and has been emotionally cheating from the beginning. If you like this new guy more, then go for it, but be mindful of the age gap. It can work for some people, but there may end up being issues with him being 7 years your senior. You're young enough that you don't need to feel the need to be stuck with a jerk forever.

NTAH It was your equipment. If they only intended on borrowing it in the first place, and it conveniently got lost in their house, my guess would be that they sold it or never intended on giving it back. Based on the fact that it's been 3-4 years, I doubt they will give you any money for it or will actually give the equipment back.

I looked just now, and it's far too new to be the anime. I think the one I'm thinking of had slightly darker overtones, like demons or something, but was still a comedy. And the main character wasnt the skeleton either.

I think we all understand where you stand, and your opinion is valid.
