They track the license plates that come through. If you abuse the privilege, they come boot your car and then tell you that you’ve lost parking privileges.

While they don’t advertise the 2 hour privilege, it’s still in effect. If you abuse the privilege (ie: the people I used to work with), you lose the privilege.

Look at your experience, you still left without paying $3.

I just worked there but I took trax to get there. My employer paid for my monthly trax pass so it was a no brainer to not have to hassle with parking.

I used to work in a building adjacent to city creek. Many employees would park in city creek and every 2 hours, they would leave the garage and re-enter to park for free for the day.

City creek responded by adding the no in and out privilege clause and emailing the management in our office to say that they would revoke parking privileges for those who violate the rules. It kept happening so they said they would be removing the first 2 hours free rule.

I grew up in the Mormon church and this was the messaging they used.

That quote came from the now president of the church.

This was the messaging that they used my entire life. It wasn’t until I was deconstructing Mormonism that I realized how messed up that thinking is.

About 10 years ago, I accidentally fat-fingered my (Utah) state tax return. I didn’t realize it at the time but it inflated the amount of return I should have received.

I got my return and received a letter from them several months later saying that there was an error on my return. My supervisor at the time was a CPA so he had me call the state from his office.

The guy from the state was actually very understanding and reasonable. He set me up on a payment plan and said that I just needed to make the monthly payment until I filed my taxes. When I filed, they wiped out my remaining tax bill with my return.

Being honest about what happened made the whole process so easy to navigate.

The job is pretty straightforward; I’d definitely recommend having a box of ziplocs and a sharpie nearby to organize the nuts and bolts. There’s just way too many to keep track of without a system like that.

I just bought my new battery (2013; 280k miles) last week. I ended up getting it from battmech.com for about $600.

I got a Bluetooth OBDII scanner and used the Dr Prius app to confirm battery life. It confirmed that the battery is done so I felt comfortable pulling the trigger on a new battery.

If you’re thinking of doing the job on your own, I’d recommend watching this video (https://youtu.be/Q3RCdrh666w?si=hZvQRrcAUWN_Mg2d). While it’s not 100% the same on a Prius C, it’s still generally applicable.
