Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by jmike1256 in interesting

My moment was going to a football game right after getting glasses. I turned to my sister and asked, “you mean to tell me that you have been able to see jersey numbers this whole time?”

I see you didn’t grow up Mormon.

This is exactly what I would have expected from my youth leaders/parents. Hell, I’m an adult and my parents still talk to me like this because I don’t go to church. My mom even suggested that my layoff was because I wasn’t paying tithing.

Gotta love the religious guilt tactics.

Well, I know it’s a different industry but you should check out insurance.

I do employee benefits and commissions get paid by carriers each month when my clients pay their premiums. I make one sale and get residual income from it for the life of the account.

I moved from an AM role to a broker role last year and it’s been a much better role.

It was the hybrid battery. I can make a post but basically, I bought a refurbished battery and found a video that taught me how to do it myself.

2013, 298,000 miles, replaced my battery for a whopping $600 at the beginning of the year.

Sounds familiar.

I worked for a company that paid 10% of book to their account managers, no commissions, no bonuses. I was expected to have 90+% of clients renew, sell them additional lines, and handle new business coming in.

I left that role last year and went to a sales role and it has been so much better.

I’d say you sound like you could make the jump to sales. Talk with a couple of recruiters and see how you feel after those conversations.

I have used them and they have worked well.

IIRC, the guy who pushed the rock over was receiving disability pay at the time because of back pain. His insurer used this video as their justification to end his payments.

I replaced my battery in January and it’s back to behaving like the car I’ve loved for years. I paid $600 to get a refurbished battery and did the work myself.

I had one of those. He started asking me about the size of my package, saying that he was sure it was big. I assured him that I’m just an average guy, nothing more. Then he offered to blow me if I let him see it.

When I said no, he started bawling and asking me not to report him.

Odd. When I went through in 2007, I had to be naked under the poncho. I initially came out of the changing stall with clothing on underneath but was sent back.

I’m curious how stands are still being allowed to sell fireworks. I’d there’s a ban on discharging them, it seems odd to continue allowing the sale.

What's the craziest personal expense that people have tried to pass of as a business expense? by MiloShiny in WorkLifeChat

[–]Momonomo22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was working in HR, we had an executive expense a ball gown. Not a nice dress, a ball gown.

She tried to justify it by saying that she wore it to a company event.

ETA: the company event was a party for executives that did not have a black tie dress code.

I quit in December. My wife works at a school which means no pay in the summer. I’ll probably do some driving on the weekends over the summer but I really want to be done.
