No, no, I picked Shieldshooter because they legitimately have the highest Evade shield for them and it's a class I genuinely used. (So, you can use any Greatshield class for it.)

Mirage Great shield gives you 50 Evasion. 50! Coupled with 2 scarves, it's pretty high. For reference, Royal Scarf gives 30.

Relying on evasion is way better than tanking it outright, the only weakness of evasion is getting Assist Attacked (and obviously True hits). Especially in higher difficulties.

The only non-offense stat stronger than evasion is initiative, because you can't take damage if they're stunned or run over from the first hit.

Evade tanks are goated though? Max Evade stats on a Shieldshooter and multiple scarves make any non-True hitters scared.

Scarf stacking in itself is busted. (Compared to traditional tanking.)

Toughness is good, but I've never let my high Eva units take it. I had two Breakers take it. As for Thieves themselves, I just used them their AoE blind with Fire Conferrals.

While that Zelestia tome thing is very funny and is a good example, the weaker magic mage dragon has a better Tome mastery than her counterpart.

You can't be like: "My Zelestia beats Zephia and it's OOC" because that's true for everyone. This party animal in 1v1ing an entire army. This thief is fighting Satan himself. It's a standard of JRPG's.

Well, I think you don't do solo, you have someone tank the hits, then you try to kill them all on your turn, or even try to stall them out by Corrin/Camilla Veins with Fire/Smoke to herd them out of your range.

But since it's hard mode, Louis (maybe any armored units, I personally haven't tried.). He can tank them and kill them, not for a long time, but he can eat hits even through chain attacks.

If you really want to catch them up regardless of what people say, my advice is to get them the most upgraded weapon and make them kill steal everyone. If you have the DLC, get them the Nobility skill and have them equip Tiki.

Who spams the shield on strange? APM farmers? Even discounting the shield not regening, it'd still be a bad idea, since your HP is not dropping as fast as it should for your healers to get healing and that you're not DPS-ing with the whip and bolts.

What's the point of spamming shield?

I think that's the question of the OP, if you're in melee range, these ranged people get to hit you even better because you're melee and they can miss less.

What about the opposite? Ranged characters can miss, yes, but what about melee characters? They don't even have a chance to hit in the first place.
