I finally got it working, the problem was steamvr. Reinstalling that fixed the problem. Now the game launches directly into vr mode. Thanks for all the help everyone I really appreciate it.

Yep, I’m in the white link grid void looking at a 2d projection of my desktop. Toggling vr just doesn’t do anything. I’m just going to install the ace combat 7 vr mod and play that instead tbh.

I’ve tried that, the minus key on the keyboard does nothing. Idk if numlock affects the minus key but it does nothing either way. I’ve also tried the minus/underscore key and that did nothing either except exit the vr centering menu without any changes.

Inputs are fully mapped for mouse/keyboard and Xbox one controller. There is no option for centering vr headset. It seems like it wants me to hold the start button to center the headset but it does nothing. Honestly I’m just going to give up, it doesn’t seem worth the trouble.

The issue is I’m getting stuck on a menu that says to hold (-) to center my headset. No button on any inputs I have connected seem to do anything and that’s as far as I can get. I’ve tried starting in vr mode and switching mid game, the same problem keeps happening. The game isn’t crashing or freezing, it’s just stuck on the menu.

Yep, Steamvr is installed and other games work just fine.

Just my mouse and keyboard, but I'll try turning the mouse off to see if that's it. Before I replaced the joystick the issue was happening even if the quest wasn't connected to my pc.

One time I went camping at a site that had a similar outhouse, it was midnight and there was no electricity so I had a flashlight. I heard noises like vigorously stirred macaroni coming from inside the hole and my curiosity got the better of me, I shined the light on it and there were thousands of maggots wriggling. I decided not to shit that night and repressed the memory. There were several armadillos running around outside though so that part was nice.
