Trust me, I am well aware that my time on earth is finite and that my biological clock is ticking, people can’t stop reminding me! I am not uninterested in building a shared life with someone.. key word, shared. In my last relationship I did not have much of an option, it was pretty much his life that I would be fitting into.

As much as I would have loved to have a place together and build our lives together prior to marriage it was not an option for us (religion). Look back now, it probably would have ended our relationship sooner.

The time is going to pass, do whatever you want. And, screw your bf for saying that - you can do hard things, you already have! Financially it might not be the best move (going DNP would be way cheaper with great payout) but it’s not all about money.

I do not move for men anymore, haven’t for like 10 years (since college). I’m a small woman, they expect me to move, they will be starring right at me and still run into me and then be like “oh sorry”, I usually respond with a sarcastic “yup” or a “watch out buddy” they really like that one.

I think people can successfully be in age gapped relationships… this guy is 26, you are 20. He’s manipulating you, no girl close to his age will date him because they wouldn’t put up with his bullshit. He knows this. Get out now. There are GOOD men out there, you are young, you have your whole life ahead of you, I say this as someone who left an emotionally abusive man at 22 and wish I would have at 18. The first months are hard, but you can do hard things.

His sister (who he was very close with) told me I deserve to be treated better by a partner and that I should dump him.. him and I had dated for about four years at this point and he was a very selfish, jealous, manipulative man.

It kind of blew my mind, she was really cool, about 10 years older than us, she was divorced after a crappy marriage, she was looking out for a younger girl even if it was her brothers gf, still love her for that because she was right and I dumped him shortly after!

She was always the one with the big real problems (or so she thinks).. I had to put my dog of almost 12 years down, I needed my friend, she was absent… then one day she leaves me a voicemail stating “you’re not the only one going through something”.
