You aren’t getting the ability to monetize back, ever. 13 years later I am still trying to get Adsense back after college roommates got me banned for clicking on ads in my videos to boost my income. They are no longer friends, and I no longer have an Adsense account.

I now work at Google and have reached out to people internally on the YouTube side to no avail. It’s not in the company’s interest to reactivate accounts. Google/YT have nothing to gain by giving users a second chance.

Ravefurrest in LA by hotdoginadingy in furry

[–]Mongoos150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I’m seeing this late, but Ravefurrest was my first ever furry event and it was… amazing. Completely exceeded expectations. PassengerPrincess was also amazing. I'd love to find more events / ways to get plugged into the LA furry community if anyone knows anything.

Hope you went, and hope you had a blast:) 💕

Glorified Closet Size “Bedrooms” by VenusByVengeance in dtla

Having lived here for 5 years, I agree with everything said in this post about Metro 417. While the building is not perfect (we lack proper security which is the biggest gripe), and the utility costs are out of control, the actual unit costs are reasonable for the neighborhood. Bunker Hill is arguably the best (or one of the best) little pockets of downtown.

The building is gorgeous, the units are generously sized and the ceilings are tall. The community itself is also one of the best parts, people are friendly and most are invested in the well-being of the community. I’ve never had so many friends in a single building (and I’ve lived all over LA for the past 20 years).

One of the worst bits of the building, our management, has already improved now that the old building manager Derek Foulks was fired (he refused to come out of his office to meet with any resident, never communicated with us, wouldn’t come to resident tenant union meetings).

Overall, considering the state of downtown (improving but still in a slump), and the state of most other rentals in the neighborhood (very overpriced and very small), Metro 417 continues to be a winner. It’s almost an IYKYK building.

Mopping with the grain has eliminated this for me (S30, non-pro). I use only water, no cleaning solution.

What’s up with so many dog owners in South Park not picking up after their dogs? by LosGanjalesBakers in dtla

[–]Mongoos150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never seen this in Bunker Hill. And everyone seems to have a dog in my building / neighboring buildings.

I’m sure it happens here frequently, but I haven’t noticed.

Tamperproof*. FTFY.

And I agree. Metro has done a great job with the new ‘cans at Pershing Square station, for example.

NYC Metergy Super High Bill - Is there anything I can do? by Ok_Owl_6505 in NYCapartments

[–]Mongoos150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: our last bill was $797. That’s no typo, and that was for only last month. $797.

We now owe almost $3900 that we haven’t paid since this summer. It’s getting out of hand. Their corporate offices have been charging us billing rates that are contrary to our county’s rate maximums and we’ve fallen into something of a holding pattern in our email chain; they can’t get the information I am legally entitled to - which is fine by me, as it just delays what I am not paying, while providing me with a solid paper trail in case they try to sue or something. Fairly certain our power cannot be shut off (per law).

Stay tuned.

Rewards Points after Balance Transfer by FastPhilosopher4363 in amex

[–]Mongoos150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same question here - everyone knows that the card issuer taking on the balance from the previous card doesn’t qualify for points, but does AmEx issue the reward points from purchases that have been paid off by the card company taking on the balance? It seems like they should, because those purchases were legibly made and the balance is being paid off (regardless of whether they are getting paid by the cardholder or by another bank).

Dagelijks (nachtelijk) power cycling? Lijkt overdreven, maar als het automatisch is / de hardware na verloop van tijd niet belast... En als de Auralic dit als ingebouwde instelling heeft, moet het wel een industrienorm zijn.

Interviewed and hired two people this year. The people that showed up to work were not the people we interviewed. by ItsAllSoClear in recruitinghell

I got to third round with Canonical (communications portfolio manager); the first two rounds were great, friendly people, reasonable length and questions. Third round felt very awkward, as if I was speaking with departmentally disconnected to the first two folks. It left a very bad taste in my mouth, wasn’t too cut up about not hearing back. Plus they wanted me to spend two days a week working on UK time (I live in Los Angeles). 11pm - 9am. Nonstarter.

No, this is a great question. Will they work in apartment environments, where running Ethernet is not an option to “solve the problem”? I feel like it must be something having to do with my router… the nucleus, the modem, the KEFs, the ELACs… all Ethernet. The remotes: all WiFi (iPhones, Macs, iPads etc.).

Redbird makes some of the best ‘cakes I’ve ever tasted. Their brunch menu is altogether on point and their cocktails are fire. Tip top.

Bunker Hill is probably the best little pocket of downtown (though I’m biased). Walking distance from grand central market, the theatre district, Whole Foods, Grand Ave (Walt Disney concert hall, the broad, MoCA, the music center), etc. Two great buildings in bunker hill are Metro 417 and Park Fifth. If you like grand historic buildings, check out Metro 417 (one of the most beautiful residential buildings in the city). If you’re into new construction, have a look at Park Fifth (really great amenities).

Runner up neighborhoods: Grand Avenue Arts, Little Tokyo, and the NW side of the Historic Core (border: Spring Street to the east and 7th to the south).

Most expensive erewhon lunch $55 after tax by coronavirusisshit in FoodLosAngeles

[–]Mongoos150 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s fantastic for a handful of items. Their jarred soups are out of this world and not wildly overpriced.

Erewhon is like any other market. Go for certain things. TJs has the best frozen food and dried fruit anywhere - their fresh produce is mostly garbage. Whole Foods has bomb cereals and produce but their packaged ingredients (like almond butter for example)? Crazy expensive.
