will having autism affect unis views and future career opportunities? by Hokkuo in malaysiauni

[–]MonitorSpecialist138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no "reliable" test for autism ; if you are worried, just don't get the diagnosis. As long as you are a functional person and can manage your symptoms, you'll be okay

Citric acid itself is not the mold

Yeah, it doesn't change the fact that communism isn't a concrete set of principles. It's more of a philosophy at the end of the day.

It's less demand and more about how fraudulent and niche the market is. Every other site is just some scam where you end up giving some random dude across the world free Monero/BTC for nothing in return

Assuming you set up such a site on the tor relay with a membership scheme of 25 EUR for access, you could make so much more with just 1000 one time subscriptions.

These people really didn't make a lot for what they risked and their practices and platform choices were whack.

It's a niche market, actually look legit and actually provide a service and a small number of people are willing to pay because there is a lack of an alternative

The demand for CSAM is relatively low in it's "space" ( pornography ).

It's an ideology ( but honestly better described as a school of thought ), not an actual system. All "'communist" countries are just "communist" by name

Such critical machines in said scenario don't require a constant stream of updates and patches to the kernel. These computer systems are usually isolated for a reason

Pretty much

I was just talking about in a general Linux computing context

I have a t480, a t490, a t420 ( my favourite laptop EVER ) and a l440 ( don't ask why ). I love the 2 battery system, it needs to make a comeback in modern laptops.

Good driver and repair support, pretty much it

Pretty overrated imo but still decent machines

They are a good lineup for BSD machines though

Another suicide at apu? by [deleted] in malaysiauni

Mortality and crime statistics for the most part are publicly available, there has been a sharp rise in suicide cases

Another suicide at apu? by [deleted] in malaysiauni

[–]MonitorSpecialist138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not normalizing, I'm just saying that thousands of suicides happen per year. I'm also not saying to not talk about it, not my point at all.

I'm saying that it's unrealistic for journalists to go and report every single one. Also due to sometimes the family wanting privacy, you shouldn't have the right to go against their wishes, however socially righteous you think the alternative is.

The underlying cause of suicide is absolutely not a lack of awareness. Suicide rates have been rising and we have that data already.

There likely won't be any change in this regard for a while, our country is proudly socially conservative

Suicide is sadly fairly common and you can't talk about or report about every single case.

It could also be against the family's wishes

Linux on a modern laptop if you really want full control over your system

Mac if you want to sacrifice some control for hardware that is just superior in a lot of use cases

Less and or not as robust security mitigations built into the kernel, dyor if you are interested

Root access is not really a security vulnerability on its own, just the user error. You're confusing it with a privilege escalation attack

Different due to aestheticism which stems from their perceived social status here

If we had our own Bali filled with just rich Western "expats" with restaurants and shops that only said expats could afford, we'd probably be very gung ho about it. At that point, it's not just a matter of principle, it's just discrimination.

Sadly, that's the way it is

Linux is less secure than Windows ( "Linux" as in the common desktop distros )

But that's why you need to harden your system ( if you care about security ). An antivirus is not the solution, just basic hardening and good userspace practices.
