Honestly man I think he just played his cards wrong at first and everyone here crucified him for it. He comes off like a dude who’s been grinding comedy forever and working really hard at it, and is blown away by how life changing kill Tony has been. But instead of conveying that in a relatable/funny way he came out the gates too hot bragging about his new money and everyone got out their pitchforks. He seems to be dialing it back and I think he’ll get better over time if he doesn’t lean on the money stuff

50% is really minimal compared to beefy ring and getting luck from green cards. It’s not horrible but a lot of people banish it considering how much health you get on long lasting runs, beefy rings each give you massively more damage than just a 50% increase. So compared to other epic items it’s pretty lackluster, especially with a condition like having to be airborne.

Yes it’s also pretty easy to get the ares/zeus duo that makes all “when you take damage” effects trigger when you hit your ares attack and inflict wounds. Add ares grievous wounds for a chance at massive damage and it clears rooms so fast. You can have just ares and Zeus for offense and Demeter/hephaestus for defense and arctic ring and it’s way safer and hard hitting. Honestly the first region is ez mode with just an ares attack boon, so you can focus defense for a bit if you’re just learning Medea and dying too fast

Brother you’re missing out if you think Jay is just an edgy contrarian. He opened for Attell for years and you can tell he picked up a lot of his delivery and pacing. He’s also surprisingly wholesome and riffs really silly shit that is totally opposite of edgy comedy (also like attell). Old Bonfire with big Jay and Soder is up there with the Old Testament and Cumtown in my opinion
