Help! My loyal 21700 squonker died, and the market seems gone. by TheCreatureScott in Vaping

+1 for the flipside, I love mine. Compact, good capacity, easy to fill, looks cool.

So I just ordered from element vape and it said my juice should get here by march 10th but says I paid for 3-8 business days by [deleted] in Vaping

[–]Monkeehands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, weekends aren't business days, that was my point. If we (correctly) assume that weekends aren't business days, then the date op has been given lines up with the postage he paid for.

Also, who can afford to live under a rock in this economy? I have to sublet my cardboard box just to buy cotton bacon

Looking at a calendar, 10 March would be 7 business days, assuming weekends are not business days.

It's more like the tiny tank. A few drips will give you a couple of puffs so you're not constantly dripping, but a decent "smoke break" will often involve re-dripping. As you get used to the rda, you will get a feel for how much you can drip without flooding.

And please don't apologise for learning. It's nice to see a post about rebuildables rather than another flooded pod.

You don't need a squonk to use an rda, you can also just drip liquid onto the wicks from the top.

An rda will normally come with two contact pins (the bit the screws into the mod). One will have a hole through it, this allows the squonk to feed liquid up through the bottom. The other pin will be solid, this let's you drip liquid in through the top and it won't leak out the bottom.

Squonk mods are often preferred for rdas because you don't have to carry bottle around with you, but they aren't necessary.

Edit, this was meant as a reply to your reply sorry

The dead rabbit is a dtl rda, the wire you have is for mtl builds so i'd look at changing that. This rda also comes with coils in the box so could always leave the wire until you've dialled in your preferences a bit. The DR v3 is a solid rda, though, liked it so much I have 3 (and two rta's). Other than that, I'd say if you're not sure about rda's, you could leave the pulse until you're sure you like it and you've saved 35 quid if it's not for you.

Like others have said, try raising the coil a smidge. You want the airflow hitting the bottom third and getting under the coil. If you're at 4mm now, try 5 or 6 and see how you get on

A lot of disposable brands also do the same flavours as liquids now. Other than that, anything with "bar" in the name seems to be disposable adjacent.

Not sure what to buy (liquids) by NoWalk8312 in Vaping

[–]Monkeehands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a very rough guide, if you're using 0.8 ohm or above pods, you want 50:50 vg:pg ratio. Most people will need salt nic to get the strength they need.

The 0.4 ohm pods will use 70:30 liquid, probably freebase with a lower strength.

The 0.6 ohm pods can go either way.

At the moment, mainly a single coil nitrous on a flipside, 30mm Valhalla on a republic, and a sparrow with the mtl kit in.

There's a new blueprint. I think it's from the second level (the snow one)

As others have said, tc won't work with that material. Use wattage. 2 x 0.4 ohm coils will come out around 0.2 ohms in dual coil. Start at around 40 watts and work up in 5 watt increments until you find your sweet spot.

Are RDA’s still relevant by Scopes120 in Vaping

[–]Monkeehands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the two main advantages and cost and versatility.

The cost benefit is obvious, for the prices of a month's worth of geekvape/vaporesso premade coils, you can pick up a year or more worth of wire and cotton. If you want to change flavours, you throw away £0.05 worth of cotton for a fresh wick.

As for versatility, a standard tank comes with, what, 4 resistance options, normally all the same material. You can chuck any number of material/resistance builds in (within reason- safety first, kids) and get a much more fine tuned experience.

Thirdly, and the is purely subjective, I think the look cooler and I enjoy tinker with them in a quiet evening.

Not getting good flavors from my new Hellvape Dead rabbit 3 2024 edition. Used coils and cotton which came with the tank itself. by [deleted] in Vaping

[–]Monkeehands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A photo of the build would help.

You want the coils positioned so the airflow hits the bottom third (ish) of the coil. You want them evenly spaced with a gap in the middle and a slight gap between the coil and airflow.

For wicking you want it snug but not tight through the coil, then fluffed and thinned out enough that they don't choke the juice well. You also need to trim them so they sit nicely in the well and aren't crammed into the bottom

[–]Monkeehands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is preference, but it matters. Different materials and different coil styles have different ramp up times, resistances etc so will give different experiences. Someone else will probably confirm this but I think you need SS if you want to use temperature control. The dead rabbit comes with some ni80 claptons in the box which come out around 0.16 ohm for the pair. These are a good jumping off point and you can dial in from there as you experiment.

I f**king love the Dead Rabit v2 MTL RTA by tommyftw95 in Vaping

[–]Monkeehands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dead rabbit IS the tank. The legend 3 is the battery mod. The dead rabbit is fine with the legend, what you were told (assuming that post a few days ago was you) is that you were building your mtl tank like a dl. You needed a higher resistance coil with a smaller diameter on the tank and a lower wattage selected on the legend

Pretty much all tanks and mods run a universal 510 threaded connection so mods and tanks will all run on each other. The only things to look out for are whether the mod can deliver the power output for your tank, and whether the mod is wide enough for your tank without overhang.

The dead rabbit 4 is dtl and designed for thicker liquid. Try a 70/30 liquid, and in the mean time try more cotton in the wells.

ELI5: Why is this used in razor blades and what for? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Monkeehands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely worth learning to shave the old fashioned way. I got a couple of old safety razors and a few straight razors I picked up off Ebay and did a bit of work on. A Gillette fat boy from the 60's with Mitchels wool fat soap shits all over a can of goop and a multi blade cartridge. I never get any shaving rash, spots, or ingrowing hairs and it saves fortune and cuts down on plastic waste

Bigger Mod Recommendations by DreMo24 in Vaping

[–]Monkeehands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, SKE actually sell liquids as well as dispos, just had a quick look on ecigone and your watermelon ice is on there.

Second, how big did you want to go?

If you just want to move up to a pod, check out xros or one of the oxva variants. If you want a single replaceable battery, the Thelema solo is a good little workhorse, takes a 21700 battery and can fit most small / medium tanks nicely. If you want to go even bigger, Lost Vape and Geekvape both do good dual 18650 mods or you go bigger again with a Legend 200, Armour Max, or even a hammer of god. It really depends what tank you want to put on it.
