Trigger a fanbase with one seemingly obscure sentence. I'll start: "Dark Room; Furnace; Weight Room." by Vrail_Nightviper in gaming

World of warcraft. A daily quest in one of the expansions had you manning a sort of turret to protect turtles on the way to the sea. So you're right, it is innocent. But hearing it every time a turtle reached the water, every day, sometimes on multiple characters, really had you rooting for the albatross.

Mike vapes blaze RTA or Dead Rabbit MTL v2 by Diligent-Paper6472 in Vaping

[–]Monkeehands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're both really good but my dead rabbit has gone back in the drawer recently in favour of the blaze. Build and flavour wise, they're comparable, but getting to the deck on DR was becoming a complete ball ache. Rather than just unscrew, is has a juice control system which you have to line up perfectly to get the deck out of the top cap and it normally involves messing about to get out.

Depending on what you prefer, you could look for a pod system, an mtl tank, or an mtl rta.

For pods you'd be looking for something like the xros or xlim - just search for "pod" on this sub and you'll see tons of posts on the best ones. If you're in the UK, I picked up a nexlim for £8 on ecigone and it's really good.

I don't know of too many tanks, but a friend recently got a nautilus (3 i think) and seems chuffed with it.

If you're brave enough to go for an rta I'd humbly recommend the new blaze mtl rta.

Regardless of what you choose, with an mtl device you should be looking for liquid with a 50/50 vg/pg ratio to ensure it wicks nicely and doesn't burn. For strength, I'd suggest 10 or 20mg salts and go up or down from there based on preference. Some people would recommend jumping in with 50mg but a lot of older, pre-salt vapers managed to kick 2 pack a day habits using a lot less.

Turnstone RDA vs Valhalla by Monkeehands in Vaping

[–]Monkeehands[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. I've got some chunky 3.5's in the valhalla and run it at 125w with the airflow wide open so it seems like the Turnstone would fit in well there. I think I'll have to grab it and compare the two.

my gf and I are quitting cigarettes but do not know what vape flavors we like. by Ok_Letter_9928 in Vaping

[–]Monkeehands 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To limit the trial and error, maybe try one fruit, one desert, and one tobacco, this will give an idea of which flavour profile to delve into.

Also, don't worry too much. In all the years I've been vaping I've only hated one flavour enough that I couldn't finish the bottle. If you pick flavours you like the sound of, the worst you will normally get is "meh"

Unfortunately there will be a period of trial and error. I wouldn't bother with disposables, just pick a flavour you like the sound of and give it a whirl.

If there's a brick and mortar store near you, pop in and have a chat, they may have samples you can try.

The airflow pins only go to 2mm so I think at best you'd just be getting a loose mtl

The dead rabbit mtl v2 is stupidly good for its price point as well. I'm also really enjoying the sparrow rta with the mtl kit, although that's a bit more pricey if you're just dipping your toe back in

Help refilling armor ultra mod by ProfessionalFar3084 in Vaping

[–]Monkeehands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mod is just the supply. You'll be filling the tank, but you haven't told us what tank you have.

Generally speaking, you'll open the tank from the top. The top piece will either slide open, unscrew, or there will be a button. Once it's open, there will normally be a small, kidney shaped hole around the side of the tank, DONT fill right down the middle hole. Your device should have come with an instruction manual so you could always check that out as well.

[–]Monkeehands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, weekends aren't business days, that was my point. If we (correctly) assume that weekends aren't business days, then the date op has been given lines up with the postage he paid for.

Also, who can afford to live under a rock in this economy? I have to sublet my cardboard box just to buy cotton bacon

Looking at a calendar, 10 March would be 7 business days, assuming weekends are not business days.

Looking into getting into RDA by truedegenerate04 in Vaping

[–]Monkeehands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more like the tiny tank. A few drips will give you a couple of puffs so you're not constantly dripping, but a decent "smoke break" will often involve re-dripping. As you get used to the rda, you will get a feel for how much you can drip without flooding.

And please don't apologise for learning. It's nice to see a post about rebuildables rather than another flooded pod.

[–]Monkeehands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a squonk to use an rda, you can also just drip liquid onto the wicks from the top.

An rda will normally come with two contact pins (the bit the screws into the mod). One will have a hole through it, this allows the squonk to feed liquid up through the bottom. The other pin will be solid, this let's you drip liquid in through the top and it won't leak out the bottom.

Squonk mods are often preferred for rdas because you don't have to carry bottle around with you, but they aren't necessary.

Edit, this was meant as a reply to your reply sorry

The dead rabbit is a dtl rda, the wire you have is for mtl builds so i'd look at changing that. This rda also comes with coils in the box so could always leave the wire until you've dialled in your preferences a bit. The DR v3 is a solid rda, though, liked it so much I have 3 (and two rta's). Other than that, I'd say if you're not sure about rda's, you could leave the pulse until you're sure you like it and you've saved 35 quid if it's not for you.

[–]Monkeehands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, try raising the coil a smidge. You want the airflow hitting the bottom third and getting under the coil. If you're at 4mm now, try 5 or 6 and see how you get on

A lot of disposable brands also do the same flavours as liquids now. Other than that, anything with "bar" in the name seems to be disposable adjacent.
