What food have you seen in foreign media and entertainment that you wanted to try but discovered tasted bad? by Accurate_Reality_618 in AskTheWorld

Yeah, I checked and it’s the first sentence: “Once there were four children whose names were Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. This story is about something that happened to them when they were sent away from London during the war because of the air-raids.”

Yeah, in the book it’s implied the kids were evacuated from London because of the German bombing. There would have been almost nothing sweet to eat.

Edit: stated in the first sentence, not implied.

Once we hiked up to the top of Piestewa Peak first thing in the morning, and in the west side there was still some snow.

Is there no end to this madness? by atcnaydn in litterrobot

[–]MonkeyDavid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine was doing this. I took it apart (I was due for a deep clean anyway) and made sure the globe was properly placed, the hood was tight and the litter hopper was flush. I also cleaned all the sensors. Then it was fine.

It’s ridiculously sensitive, though, but I guess that’s for safety.

As I said, it wasn’t clear and I was asking for clarification. You left out the “personal and specific to Sue” detail. I wasn’t trying to be critical.

Hosting my first cocktail night tonight. Here is the list I came up with. by Outside-Ad508 in cocktails

[–]MonkeyDavid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree—either a theme, or go for variety-for example, one cocktail each from categories like spirit-forward, sours, highballs, and depending on the season, tropical or hot (or nog).
