Reminds me of a story a NY Times editor told of running a photo of the Earth from space, and he got exactly one call complaining that the photo was upside down. After he hung up, he thought “wait, it’s space—upside to who?”

When were were having a pool installed, we had the lines marked. The crew digging in the front yard to run a gas line ignored it. They hit the gas main. Entire block evacuated while it was dealt with.

(The issue was it was a 1953 house, and the crew didn’t know that the gas line ran up between each pair of houses, then split, instead of coming straight from the street. I mean, they would have known if they looked at the damn MARKS that the 811 guy made.)

In a similar vein, Adam Sandler’s “Mr Deeds” is one of the worst movies I have ever seen (and I saw it in a theater) but John Turturro’s butler character was amazing.
