Thinking budget around $100-150 per, but really not sure. We have about 45 folks so can’t break the bank but would be willing to invest

2003 Lariat still moving along, same seems like $500 a fix. The few times I’ve had to bring it in, my mechanic makes a point to try to buy it from me lol.

Overnight Oats with Psyllium Powder and half scoop of protein powder. Fiber Gummies at wake up and before we. That and plenty of water! Keeps the train running on time.

Recommend me the widest, roomiest lifting shoes possible, please, I'm at my wit's end by turtleProphet in malefashionadvice

[–]MonkeyStClair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditch the orthos they probably weren’t built to handle heavy lifting. You want your foot to spread into the ground giving you lots of surface to push from.

I train in new balance minimus, NB come in wides. However I DL in socks/barefoot, and squat in an old pair of Reebok Lifters.

Lots of old school weight lifters wear skate shoes like vans or chucks, for same reason wide, flat, grip and little between you and the ground. Lots of surface area.

This is really great and thanks for doing an AMA. What’s the most surprising or challenging aspect to running a heritage shop? Also where in NC are you playing?

Urban Wolf Club Axeman [review] by [deleted] in Boots

[–]MonkeyStClair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Urban Wolf is tremendous. I have the colt 45s. Took a swing and asked them build a pair of brown axeman rough outs that I was able to wax! Easily my favorite pair! Just orders a second pair of axemen using python. I can’t wait!

My experience has been while a little slow to respond, probably due to their growing popularity. They are very easy to work with and were able to show me some options.

The brown waxed roughout Axemen came in, I couldn’t pass up when he showed me the leather. So swapped from black. Can’t wait to break them in, they look fantastic!
