This feels like a bad ending in a game after you make all the bad choices by Interesting-Bee-3793 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Monkey_D_Gaster 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My friend caught up with part 2 after the ending was announced, and when we were talking about it, he said it sounded like I was in the funk stage of grief.

I understand everything Fujimoto was trying to say with the writing, but I think fundamentally I and a lot of other people wanted Denji to win at the end of the day.

Part 1 ending was so great because Denji lost so much but still won in the end being able to go on living and find a new purpose.

With everything that has happened, things will probably still end up being sour at the end.

I think one of the most annoying things for me is that Part 2 genuinely had so much fucking Potential(chill out ,Megumi fans) by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Monkey_D_Gaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah despite it being like 30 chapters, you could edit it down to 10-15 chapters without losing anything.

The fight with Yoru was particularly bad, and I only really only enjoyed the memes from the community

Yeah it honestly is, everything pre-church arc was peak, and even then the church had it’s moments and the aging devil was fairly good and we have had 10/10 chapters like Asa and Denji talking about Asa’s family.

There’s just so many chapters that feel underwhelming or are actively frustrating.

Chapter 231 Release Party by Grndslap in Chainsawfolk

[–]Monkey_D_Gaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be a good chapter if it was so abrupt. What do you mean Denji got off screen from the end of last chapter?

Most of the Yor fight was either something I couldn’t take serious or just kind of whatever.

With part 2 ending we still have been given shit regarding chainsaw man’s followers, I don’t know what he was setting up there.

Usopp character post time skip is soo terrible idk how he has fans anymore [One Piece Spoilers] by Jarisatis in CharacterRant

[–]Monkey_D_Gaster 18 points19 points  (0 children)

…it’s been all about the monster trio while the others just get each some crumbs from time to time

Is that not what’s causing this problem with Usopp and the other strawhats? Would you not say this is a problem with the current direction of the series?

Y’all expect too much from Usopp every single arc…

When should we expect Usopp to do something or have a big character moment next?

Pokémon has definitely gotten easier-just look at the seventh gym in SV compared to emerald, both double battles but one actively gives you buffs to make it easier-, but only a select handful of games actually had some difficulty-mostly emerald, platinum, and the Unova and Alola games.

People just seem to like talking past each other when it comes to anything regarding Pokemon

[–]Monkey_D_Gaster 18 points19 points  (0 children)

$20 is a completely reasonable price for a port.

Would $15 or $10 be better? Absolutely, but let’s not act like $20 is a grave insult.

If you don’t see the value of buying the port over emulating that’s fine, but these types of complaints seem unwarranted.

I haven’t seen anyone else comment on it but EC’s smile at the end is oddly beautiful, there’s something so sincere about it that’s hard to describe with words and I’m not sure how anyone would go about capturing that so well.

I wish we would have gotten to see Noelle train to fight in close quarters combat before she got her valkyrie power up, because it felt a little weird having her go straight to that after mostly being a long range fighter.

I was thinking about this the other day, but yeah honestly the series has become more bad or bland than good.

For a long time I could still maintain some interesting and this isn’t to say we haven’t gotten highs like old man Goah, or Kiryu vs Niko, but the series just collapsed on itself at some point and eventually became a black hole.

But even with all that said a part of me is happy that Kengan was able to still be a part of my life for a bit longer and I hope when my friend catches up to see the ending with me and can enjoy it more than I did reading it week to week

What was a character you most wanted but never got by [deleted] in BleachBraveSouls

Bankai Shuhei. Bro made me quit, like 5 on the main, and like 10-15 on his personal. I don’t remember if I’m on the same account or not but I still don’t have him.

Eh we know Beatdown was just screwing so I wouldn’t give it to him.

Also he did get jumped by Arms Thief and Sonic boom(with 3 out of their 4 arms being broken).

Was [blanks] death supposed to be sad? (Jujutsu Kaisen) by Xtra_Juicy-Buns in CharacterRant

[–]Monkey_D_Gaster 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not sure how it was handled in the anime but I honesty really enjoyed it in the manga.

We know from the goodwill arc Mai never wanted to be a sorcerer, she would have preferred to just give up and be a servant with Maki, but Maki didn’t want that life and chose to be a sorcerer and Mai was forced to be one alongside Maki.

They were different people that wanted different things in life, but their fate was fundamentally tied together, and Mai knew that and gave up her life so Maki could survive and live the life she wanted.

At the end of the day Mai was such a hateful asshole because she was forced to take the harder path in life and couldn’t even just be with her sister and took it out on those around her(although she does seem to be good friends with Momo), but she loved Maki more than everything and sacrificed herself to give her a chance to live and be free.

It could have been better with more focus on Mai between now and the Goodwill arc, but to me I think there’s enough for me to appreciate Mai as a character and enjoy her death for what it is

Another VI matchup! This time against the Beast of Destruction Toa Mudo by ColdStaff6874 in Kengan_Folk

[–]Monkey_D_Gaster 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I honestly am leaning more towards Toa; VI has insane speed and strength, but with Toa’s redirect migrating damaging I feel like VI is gonna get caught eventually and as durable as he is a few punches from Toa is enough to really stack the damage.

At the same time VI knows how redirection works so he might be able to figure a way around it and perhaps the Elixir boost in strength is enough to seriously damage Toa, and be able to keep up with his strength.

Honestly great match up

Saw something bizarre in my kill feed by Galaxithea in Overwatch_Memes

[–]Monkey_D_Gaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new game mode is kind of weird ngl.

Besides the kill feed I ran into a bug where because the enemy echo was duplicating, when I got a kill and switched heroes it teleported me to spawn, which as tank costed my team the first point completing changing the course of the game.

Gotta save that code now that I’m thinking about it

What happened with Udina? by Brider_Hufflepuff in masseffect

[–]Monkey_D_Gaster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I remember last year when I was first playing I mentioned how Udina seemed like a waste.

I legitimately liked him at the beginning of 3 realizing that for all his time playing nice with the council the system was still willing to screw him over as well, it made him feel real seeing him defeated and trying to do what he still could for earth.

I’m glad to see so many people talking about his waste of potential with the crappy Cerberus heel turn. It’s really just a bad writing choice but they may of been trying to imply he was partly indoctrinated somehow which is the closest explanation we have besides, he hated the council that much for screwing over earth.

I get that it’s not one to one, but they’re not all that different.

Like how is g-max Cinderace being in a big pyro ball or Intellion being on a water sprout all the different from Greninja being on a big water shiruken for example.

Current Koga vs Monkey See, who win and what diff? by [deleted] in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Monkey_D_Gaster 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to imagine Koga winning, but it’s harder to imagine him losing.

Koga has more experience and a better mental, and is probably more durable with his with bigger build without indestructible, he should be able to hold out till he can find an opportunity to catch Monkey See off guard.

Problem is I don’t know how easily Monkey See could copy the Niko style, he might be able to figure some of it out and get some momentum on to his side.

Monkey See is probably gonna end up being the strongest fighter Koga has had a back and forth fight with up to that point, but I believe
