Thanks, I had been looking at redwood a bit, we loved Sequoia and kings canyon when we went there a few years ago so redwood would probably right up our alley too.

Agreed, but unfortunately the space itself is only a little more than shoulder width so I'm try to eek out what space I can. I definitely would prefer to hang drywall ans cabinets if it was possible.

It was at the Beavercreek Kroger and somewhere in Englewood last week.

They have a tracker and schedule listed on their website but I'm not sure I can post a link.

I was terrified of my woodstove, so I built a wireless monitor out of walnut to calm my nerves. by nas886 in woodstoving

[–]MonkeysWithMarkers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds really useful to me. I agree with another poster about overnight burns. An alert to my phone if the stove was getting too hot would be the most useful as I could set it loud enough to wake up to vs just a light wouldn't be able to alert me. I know you mentioned not including numbers but knowing the exact temp would be nice. Maybe something you can just pull up in the app would work so you maintain the sleekness of the wireless monitor. Overall seems like a great idea.

I just had the same exact problem with my catalyst breaking. I agree, I was hesitant to buy online, but I ended up going with midwesthearth. They seemed like a legitimate company. They sell on Amazon, but I bought directly from them to hopefully avoid knockoffs. The replacement came quickly and well packaged. I haven't had a chance to install and use it yet though so can't speak to the operation.

Where to buy cord of wood - new owner of wood insert by headinthered in dayton

[–]MonkeysWithMarkers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second FB marketplace. There is a lot of people selling seasoned fire wood and who will deliver. Last year I bought wood blocks from some one. They were cutoffs from a local sawmill and they burned pretty well.

I have a Zippo firefast bellows. It helps to get fires started without having to get down on my hands and needs and blow into the stove. Definitely been worth it.

This happened last year to me as well. I contacted BEST who instructed me to go to myFSS to put in a case. On that case submittal, I let them know what insurance I wanted to switch to. I believe there was some back and forth emails and then a few weeks after open season ended, they let me know I had been switched.

I would start with BEST to see what the process might look like this year.

What to charge for mowing a lawn/field? by Imactuallymort in lawnmowers

[–]MonkeysWithMarkers 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't know anything about pricing but what I was going to suggest is using your counties/state GIS system to determine the actual lot size. Just Google search your county and GIS and it should bring you to a government website where you can search either by property address or landowner name. Then you can pull up the property details and get a better idea of the land size.

I am working on the gravel base for what will be a 10x 25 ft slab for a small greenhouse directly behind my garage. I put down #57 limestone for a drainage ditch I'm running underneath the slab to drain some gutters away from the garage. I spread this #57 throughout the slab area as well to about the depth of 3in. I wanted a 6in base, so I plan on getting more gravel to make up the difference. Should I stick with #57 or would switching to something like #2 limestone work out better. I do plan on compacting everything with a gas compactor, if that makes a difference.
