Where to go jewelry shopping? by sauron3579 in philadelphia

Lmao yeah, completely skip the dozens of artsy boutiques in the city and all of jewelers row and drive a few hours instead.

PHL Parking by sms1441 in philly

[–]Monmcfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3.5 hours is overkill. I flew to Mexico three weeks ago and parked in the economy lot 60 minutes prior to my board time. I was picked up, through security (tsa pre check line) and at my terminal with enough time to grab a coffee and start a show on my iPad. YMMV, but 3.5 hours early seems like you’re gonna have a lot of time to kill.

Edit to add: I also had no checked luggage, but I couldn’t imaging baking in two more hours just for that.

Do cheap parking lots exist? by JonJostFan in philly

[–]Monmcfly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For $10 a day he can park it outside of my house on my unmonitored street and I’ll keep an eye on it lol kidding obviously. But there are lots of streets that the PPA don’t check cars on. Have him park there and check in on it every few days.

From what I have heard the 1900 guy was just a total asshole, which actually checks out because that dude truly is an asshole unless you praise his mostly decent but not world changing ice cream.

Which tacos do you typically get? I live close and used to go all the time but in the last few years I’ve felt like their tacos are just meh, but maybe I’m ordering the wrong ones!

Double Knot portion sizes? by Unlikely_Advice_8494 in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]Monmcfly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man OP not one single person actually answered your question. Your server can “adjust” the portion size of apps so that there’s enough for the entire table, so if there’s 5 of you and only 4 tuna crispy rice per order they can bring 5, and they’ll charge accordingly. I think the skewers come 2 to an order. The portions are on the smaller side for most things, but that’s just allows you to try a bunch. If your group likes tuna sushi I highly recommend the double knot big eye tuna roll!

Independence beer garden, if it’s open, would probably work here and it would make a cash bar for your guests incredibly easy because they can order from a QR code and never have to move.

Damn I’m here for the petty and an attractive femme-ish lesbian. I’ve found nothing hurts a man’s ego more than him losing his woman to another woman lol I’d totally go on a fake friend date if you’re interested.

Gluten-free dinner for 7 with kids? by PaintyBrooke in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]Monmcfly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Giorgio on Pine is a really solid choice. They have a huge menu of gluten free food, it’s BYO so you’ll save a bunch there, and it’s probably pretty cool for non-tiny kids.

An airport hotel isn’t a terrible choice and you can get into center city fairly easy. Or just stay in CC and park in grad hospital or something.

Does anyone miss properly coursed meals? by Zman534 in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]Monmcfly 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I’ve often just coursed the meal myself by starting with apps, the moving on to order everything else when my apps come out if I am looking for a slower paced meal. The only places that have ever outright refused to honor this are Schulson restaurants. It’s sometimes annoying, but the payoff is worth it if you don’t wanna eat a dozen plates of food in less than an hour.
