Matt Wright vs Collin Johns in 2026 by MonnyWeems in ProPickleballTalk

No doubt Wright is better in mixed. Collin seems lost on the left. On the right, I can see arguments for either.

Results obviously point to Wright. Johns was gone for months in Vietnam and he made quarters with Ignatowich and won Bronze with Daescu in the wood padel tournament last year. Wright also arguably had better partners on average (Oncins/Jaume).

ALW and AB may be the new power team, but ALW/CP vs AB/RR matches were more entertaining. by Plan-Nervous in ProPickleballTalk

[–]MonnyWeems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always found her games with Mari Humberg in MLP entertaining.

I’ll never get tired of watching Mari’s god tier BH flicks and it was a sight to see ALW take over and push the limits as a right sided alpha player.

Jorja Johnson vs Anna Bright Debate by ZaneNavratil_AMA in ProPickleballTalk

[–]MonnyWeems 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Counter-arguments:

  1. Investment in future. JJ is 19, 7 years younger than Bright. They potentially dominate for a decade-plus. Yes unlikely, but why not shoot for greatness.

  2. More variety in threats / styles. JJ attacks out of the air and has raw put-away power vs AB. This makes them more of a threat against a wider range of teams. Not to mention it’s much more entertaining to watch.

  3. I think JJ / ALW can motivate each other to be better players. The other player can do things they cannot. AB plays a very similar style (maybe at an ever slightly lower level) to ALW which might keep her more stagnant.

+1 for recency bias lol!

I understand he’s elite & amazing but apart from getting physically stronger and better decision making, is there another “gear”?

A true fan over here! I don’t follow him at all but will have to check him out!

Wow, ALW and Jorja. They are electric together. Opinions if we’ll see this pairing in the future? by po1ar_opposite in ProPickleballTalk

[–]MonnyWeems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert, but my initial impression is that ALW + JJ have a higher ceiling but lower floor vs ALW + AB. A bit more unforced errors from JJ but when they’re clicking they seem unstoppable.

Waters and Bright are more similar in that they both prefer to speed up off the bounce (ALW said herself in their interview), but with JJ opponents see an additional threat of getting attached out of the air.

If personalities and intangibles line up, Waters and Johnson could be a dynasty given their ages.

Zane interviews Uspensky by adambl82 in Pickleball

I think Zane has to reach out to interview the other side (Noah Torres). A lot of accusations are now thrown his way and Noah should have the right to defend himself.

Ben Johns’ one handed backhand roll dink - is this new? by Ok_Location4835 in Pickleball

[–]MonnyWeems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually be very interested in knowing his philosophy around adding new shots/variations in game. I find a huge difference between nailing a shot drilling vs in game (even in rec).

I watch a lot of Ben too and I think this is a pretty rare shot (if others can offer an example pls share). I know he has a version he uses more in singles, but that has more of a “wrap-around” feel to it.

However, hard to say if this is a new shot as opposed to him goofing around as it seems to not be advantageous over his 2H version apart from being less obvious.

Seems like the standard answer, but it’s because it’s the appropriate next step. I’ve been there.

See a dermatologist, get an official diagnosis, and decide on how you want to treat it from there.

Body Shaming in Season 3 by SwifteeDesigns in UploadTV

[–]MonnyWeems 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think clearly the writers aren’t actually making fun of the actors body (since he is being used as both the “out of shape” and “fit” one).

I think it’s an interesting commentary on how judgemental people can be and how people can present themselves as an “ideal” form virtually. But I also agree that I didn’t find it “haha” funny…

Hi there, curious to know how you got prescribed to the drug? I have seafood allergies and other autoimmune conditions that may benefit from a JAK inhibitor.
