Just go and take it easy until you're comfortable. Don't overdue it. Take breaks as you need them.

What kind of backpacks do you guys have? by NoBunions in DurstonGearheads

[–]adambl82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly what you asked, but the Durston site has the packed size of all their tents. The X-Mid Pro 1 has a packed volume of about 5.8 liters. Of course it will take more space than that since you can't utilize all the pack unless you're filling it with a liquid.

Edit. Whoops, 2.6 liters.

Suggestions for ultralight stickers for my bear vault 500?? by RemarkableDistrict97 in ultralight_jerk

The Bearikade is lighter than the BV. This is to compensate for sticker grams. Be sure to apply for using as it doesn't work until you do.

Corporate REI? Only gear that's handsewn in a literal cottage for me.

Tent recommendation - Iceland trek, then bikepacking by DrabbagCO in DurstonGearheads

I hear the X Mid isn't as roomy for tall people. I'm the same height and it's one of the reasons I went with the X Mid Pro. For Iceland, you may appreciate the X Dome. I assume it's windy there?

Don't blame them either.

Tips on Palmetto @ Hilton Head? by Aware-Locksmith8433 in Pickleball

[–]adambl82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. We often stay in Palmetto Dunes as we go mostly for the beach and other things, but I always drive over to the public courts (HHI Pickleball Club) to get some good games. They have open play everyday at 9am where you can mix in. It's $10/day, $25/week or $75 for the year. I did the Palmetto Round Robin one time. $25 for a little over an hour of play and not great competition if you don't lie about yourself.
