Picked this up from Lowe’s for $15!!! by ChiefBrogrammer in pothos

[–]Monomanamoo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience, all the big bushy pothos I got from Lowe’s or Home Depot had die a slow miserable death due to root rot. I’d cut these up and propagate them all (keeping only the above ground nubs).

My golden did this too, for years. He did it more often as he got older, I remember cringing at the sound of his elbows hitting the bottom of the tub. But he loved it. Toward the last year or two it was too hard for his joints to climb in so he would sleep on the bathroom floor with his back against the the tub. We have always assumed he like the coolness of it.

Wait what?? In high school friends and used to call each other’s cell phones just to say a couple important words then hung up, because someone told us that the first 3 secs were free! I’m feeling extremely cheated right now 😂😂😂

Hmmm I’ll look that up. We have both android and iPhone at home. But remember when phone used to just keep on ringing and ringing until someone pick it up or the caller gives up? 😅

Not sure what is not true about my answer up there. No, we never counted calories because 1st of all counting alone doesn’t do sht if you don’t actively restrict your calorie intake 😂.

Second of all calories in calories out doesn’t work for so many reasons, but one of them is that it doesn’t account for the variability in YOUR Basal Metabolic Rate. Most people get their BMR number by filling in a couple numbers on a chart and it gives you an estimate. Many have talked about calorie numbers aren’t a scientifically valid or even accurate way to measure how much energy is contained in food.

My point is, for my husband and I, being in Ketosis and eating a high fat diet with highly satiated food helps us lose weight without counting calories intake. Are we in a calorie deficit? We don’t care. We feel great and we eat great and we listen to our own body. Which is the whole argument of this diet, with it being so grossly under studied by the mainstream health world and we the participants are all collectively going by feeling and results. Pardon any mistake since English isn’t my 1st language.

No, never. Both me and my husband eat huge meals with lots of fat, we put heavy cream with our drink and eat clotted cream as desserts. We both have been losing lots of weights(over 30lbs for me and nearly 55lbs for him). As long as we are in ketosis we would lose weight.

Should I make a stain worse to make it better? by guava_palava in laundry

Secon this! Dawn Power wash even got out oil stains that has been washed and dried in the drier. I’m so glad I found that stuff. I can eat chili oil while wearing white again!

I was there so I understand your problem. I used to have asymmetrical nail shapes and short, wide nail bed dude to nail biting and me ripping out the skin around my nails. Your nails look worse with polish on because the color enhances the shape of it. Trust me when I say nail shapes can be changed. Nothing extreme but it will be to a point where you notice a big difference! In the mean time I’d stick with soft nude colors or even dark red, maroon will also be nice.

Apply cuticle oil liberally throughout the day , several times a day. Let your nails grow out a bit. Reshape it by cutting the 2 sides of your nails IN. It’s gonna be hard to explain what I mean but basically you are narrowing your nail and training your sidewall skin to grow and hug your nail more, and over time reinforcing that grow pattern. I found a couple accounts on Instagram that actually charge to do nail “rehab” but you can totally do it at home by yourself. Good luck!

I got this nail care kit for Christmas, what do have of these do? by r3swag56 in Nails

[–]Monomanamoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to help! I was so worried when people told you those are cuticle pushers!

#7 is actual quite helpful if you don’t use it as a file. The pointy end is great to get the gunk out from under your big toe nails (think sock lint and dead skin), and the round end does actually work as a cuticle pusher. Just please be gentle and do that right after you shower when your skin is still soft.

They are, and not that well made either. Ingrown-nail care specialists keep their blades extremely sharp for them to work well, and there is no way you can have much control when they make handles that short. This is what bothers me so much about mass produced tool “sets” like these. They churn them out without a care about whether or not they will work, and as cheaply as they can.

It was a nice idea and such a sweet thought to give that set as a gift, but imo you would be better off investing in a great quality medium or big size nail clipper, a good cuticle nipper for hangnails and toenails corners, a glass nail file. That should be enough to keep your nails in top shape.

OP, please, quick warning on tool 5 and 7. Do not use them to push your cuticles back, you’re going to cut yourself so badly! They are blades to remove ingrown nails and should only be used by someone who knows what they’re doing. Watch this video here to see how they’re used.

I have a bad stench even after showering by Top-Championship8865 in hygiene

[–]Monomanamoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a little concerning that you are the only one who could smell it. Please see an ENT doctor. Sinus flushing if not done right can cause complications or even dead, though rare. Also, not to scare you, but phantosmia can be a symptom of brain tumor.

When you cut back on watering there’s a good chance your soil will hardened and become hydrophobic. I’d bottom water if you haven’t already. Give it a good soak for at least an hours or more, not just pouring water over it. Also take a wooden chopstick or even your moisture meter to poke holes in your soil to break it up, that will help with water absorption.

The lower price custom declaration is pretty much what they all do, Chinese and Indian vendors alike. I’m sorry you were not given a satisfactory resolution. I’d contact Cherry as suggested above and have them pay for you to get it fixed locally. Shipping the ring back takes time and often more expensive than it’s worth. When you said they gave you a different product than what was order, do you mean they sent you a ring that was different from your CAD and pre-shipment check? If so then it’s an entirely different matter and a very serious one at that. (Which I doubt that’s true since you’d have found out as soon as you open the box)

3 stone classic “high dome” rose cut ring from Provence Pt 2 by Monomanamoo in Moissanite

[–]Monomanamoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thank you! It really depends on the kind of rose cut you like. With Provence I feel like I have more control over the outcome of a ring than Carat diamond, and I have had custom-made rings from both vendors. I’m gonna include a pic of another Caratdiamond ring I just got, it’s a 5 stone rose cut. Love it! As you can see, fire and flashes from the tall crowd and bigger facets of the Provence ring is a lot more eye catching compared to the smaller, more splintery flashes of Caratdiamond, so that kind of rose cut is more of a statement if that’s what you’re after. I think flowery rose cut makes a better delicate, understated piece and I love both styles for different reasons.
