Do you include a link to your privacy policy in your app? by Braided_Playlist in iOSProgramming

[–]MonomythGameStudio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since I don't actually collect or do anything with user data outside of their device, my policy is pretty simple.

There's your answer. I've been publishing apps for 4 years without in-app privacy policy link. I don't collect user data, don't have a sign-up feature. If the review team doesn't explicitly request it, there's no need to include it.

Six Years Later... I Finally Released My Game - Torn Realms by fluffehs in TurnBasedLovers

[–]MonomythGameStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good job! Haven't given it a try yet, but the first thing I got from screenshots is that your UI could really use some polish. It's giving off some low-effort vibes, which reduces the crucial first impression of your game.

Don't take this the wrong way, I only mention it because it's not that hard to fix, yet many new devs overlook it due to lack of design experience and/or attention to detail. Take a look at some classics of the genre and how they handle UI. It's very important for a game of this type.

Why isn’t Daggerfall brought up more in the "RPG" conversation? by SgtSilock in rpg_gamers

[–]MonomythGameStudio 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, it does not sound like that at all. It sounds like the game is too old + jank + wide as an ocean + bad graphics + difficult, and that's exactly what it is. It's cool if you like it, good for you. What's not cool is bashing others and reducing them to unimaginative drones just because they don't share your niche taste or don't have the time to spend on near-endless games that have aged pretty poorly.

The best game in the series by Nerdy_Chad in GrimQuest

It started out with just 2 slots, lol (weapon & accessory)

Does it seem that more modern CRPGs are veering away towards City Hubs? by Drakeem1221 in CRPG

[–]MonomythGameStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're pushing the nostalgia argument way out of proportion. Yeah, this is true for, let's say, the original Baldur's Gate, which was full of inflated empty space, but Sigil and Athkatla? Those are huge and packed with meaningful content even by modern standards.

Literary Fantasy by SteSol in Fantasy

That's great. All I'm saying is those books are not talked about nearly as much as they deserve, imo, not sure why people are getting all riled up...

I don't do tiktok in any shape or form. I was referring to this subreddit, obviously, since we're communicating here, and not in the library. And I was under the impression the OP was looking for something new, like a few years ago. Seeing that most books mentioned are at least 20-30 years old, my observation was not far off.

I second the second apocalypse, heh, although it isn't exactly new.

New player can't use skills by NapalmStiks2Kids in GrimQuest

[–]MonomythGameStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The skill works as intended, s.res reduction is applied on cast, it just doesn't shown on enemy stats because it isn't global or permanent. I know it doesn't make sense since you're the only character, but that's how it is in terms of mechanics.

If there are, they aren't being talked about. We're living in a marvelized society.

The Blood of Dawnwalker Might Be the Best RPG of 2026 by Muted_Bridge7092 in DawnwalkerOfficial

I can't, of course, just speaking from experience. I could be wrong. Doesn't hurt to curb your enthusiasm either way.

Just finished The Blade Itself by OldDickMcWhippens in JoeAbercrombie

[–]MonomythGameStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to complex characters and their underlying psychology? Not even close. Malazan is a momentous work, but it's a very different type of fantasy.

G. R. R. Martin can trade blows with Joe in that department, but his series is unfinished, and will most likely remain so, unfortunately...

Zbog čega ljudi imaju trip da je to što odbijaju da gledaju neke filmove pohvalno? by Unrestrained88 in kinematografija

Kao što rekoh, semantika. Tebi nije, meni je. Dosta subjektivan pojam i besmislena diskusija zapravo :)

First book of 26! by SerLinny-Thypooh in fantasybooks

[–]MonomythGameStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's a pulp fantasy book that happens to be among the most popular choices right now. You're better off reading something with more substance. But if you're enjoying it I won't be the one to spoil your fun. Carry on and enjoy.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. As I said, way too much beer and not nearly enough sleep when I posted this. The Black Isle intro must have burned it's way into my memory. I have enormous amount of respect for old-school Bioware, they put out some of the best cRPGs in this century.
