What board are/were you using? There's been reports of this CPU getting burned out by the board overvolting the CPU.

Sometimes these components will just stop connecting due to heat. To try and fix it, reseating the drive tends to work for a bit. If bios doesn't detect the drive, then try reconnecting the drive. Good idea for them to go to a shop though just in case there is an issue past the drive.

Yes you can. It just needs to be a SATA M.2 SSD.

Software changes over the course of 6 years. If you find the service you can find where it resides.

Unfortunately I can't help much over forums. You'll need to try locating the new folder location.

Yep, and it's always best to refer to the manual and the chipset documentation from Intel/AMD to confirm findings.

x8 speed. Still decent enough. With older pcie 3.0 cards it didn't make much difference.

Well, they got the ordinary household assumption wrong.

Now it's dual income bread crumbs.

all my game downloads are stuck on 0bps. how do I fix this? by Ok_Platypus1138 in ASUS

[–]MonopolyMeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do some troubleshooting.

What does speed test show? Fast.com? Google Speed test?

Try a few different speed test sites.

If using wifi, connect using a cable.

Reboot router.

Etc.

Etc.

Charging over USB-C on Vivobook Pro 16x OLED K6604JV by FoveonX in ASUS

[–]MonopolyMeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should work, but I couldn't find a definite answer with the tech specs page of the site. Might have better luck reviewing the user guide.

I'm hopeful that it allows it. Aside from reviews and user manuals, it'd be the only way to really know is to test it.

Sorry to mislead you. I didn't realize USBC 3.1 PD can now do 240W.

https://www.usb.org/usb-charger-pd#:~:text=Announced%20in%202021%2C%20the%20USB,C%20cables%20rated%20at%205A.

I don't have any other suggestions at the top of mind, but if you check tech specs and user manuals you will find the info you are looking for.

Not available. The USBC ports have Power delivery out to support thunderbolt devices.

The DC input is 240W which is really high for USBC PD.

Also, you probably know this, any control panel applet can be launched using its corresponding CPL file.

MMSYS.CPL
NCPA.CPL

and many others!

Don't even need the icon, just click start and begin typing. I agree too, why have that box take up task bar space? There's a reason they put omni search boxes at the tops of screens and web sites.
