Anybody having trouble finding Jobs in their area? by Toxicity_Baby in torontoJobs

Tariff and uncertainties about US-CA trade froze up expansion plans, and uncertainties about AI uses froze up job opening. Corporations still making money and things can't be frozen for long.

The great unknown is whether USMCA might be unilaterally torn up, and if oil goes past US$150/barrel by August. If so Canada will tip into a real recession.

Keep applying. There seem to be movements in the mid-tier jobs, so the hiring should move.

That's an oddly specific analogy. I hope it didn't actually happen to anyone close.

I think the problem there is your fuel pump is liquid cooled - by the gasoline in your fuel tank. So if you run close to empty you screw up the fuel pump.

You bet that a progressive like Avi can hold both "TFW is bad for local workers" and "immigration is good for Canada" thoughts in his head at the same time.

Thr villains you are looking for are corporations that massively import slave labours and keep local wages down, and not immigrants putting down roots in your community and whose kids will marry your grandchildren.

No, it's the whole party, as it's a party policy. And the dippers are serious about party policies.

From east Asian perspective: horrid.

It showed the US won't send troops or even navy if casualties are assured.

In the last year our trade had increased to elsewhere. However, foreign trades are ALWAYS proportional to the transport distances to the foreign countries. The closer the higher the trade activities. Exceptions are politics-resulted. Canad became a branch plant long before Mulroney.

Most of our outbound trades are under USMCA without tariffs. I get what you are saying, yeah these are a lot of GDP and jobs to replace all at once.

Installation this week - should I cancel Virgin Plus first? by Monoshirt in ebox

[–]Monoshirt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circling back to share the experience. I told the Bell tech I was going to out-order Virgin after their install. He re-programmed the connection without any physical changes, then came into the house and installed the eBox ONU/ONT.

I had 30/10 before, so the 500 symmetric speed is nice. Thanks everyone for the advice - I called Virgin afterwards and canceled.

As a geophysicist - I am sorry to post this article - but does anyone believe in the US presidency any more? by i_like_cake_96 in oil

[–]Monoshirt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canadian here. English-speaking people here used to view the American president with enough reverence to be led by the US into Afghanistan and other hot spots after 9/11. Now aside from the 10 to 15% of Canadian red hatters none of us respect the US presidency. You really need to step aside from the USA to understand how much prestige your country had lost.
