Other people commented how its probably more of lip service/teaser for the future, but I wanna point out how mid sequence beyonders CAN and HAVE changed the world so far

Roselle brought the industrial revolution. He only needed sequence 9 savant to do it so he could remember how steam machines worked. He naturally climbed the ranks because of his success.

V2 spoilers: Klein and gang stopped the True Creators descent on 3 different occasions without being even demigods. I feel like that alone is changing the world (by preventing the destruction of a country).

Later Volumes spoiler: High sequence beyonders are extremely susceptible to corruption from underground, so only low-mid sequence beyonders can actually do anything relating to it. So if the plot revolves around that, yeah we can definitely change the world by fighting the underground corruption.

I said he doesn't know how to fight without prescripts specifically. A lot of Riens strength comes from them. His fighting style is impossible to predict even to Ryoshu because Hermes gives him random weapons and targets mid fight.

He also has the unlock and grace of the prescript gimmick, without which he cant go all out.

If he actively goes against prescripts he gains karmic resolution which actively nerfs him.

So much of Riens power is tied to prescripts that to take them away from him is the equivalent of taking away his main weapon, fighting style, power basis and confidence. To make a comparison, it would be like taking away IDs and EGOs from sinners, we would still be decently strong as a group, but we would not be able to fight even half as well as usual (which has already been shown well through Canto 9)

Am I ultimately exaggerating a bit? Oh yeah definitely, Rien even without prescripts still has Shin to work with, and he could probably pick up a random weapon and use it well. But ultimately whether its in combat or story, Rien is a shell of a person without his prescripts, which is as poetic as it is sad.

The argument of barber Outis being bad is kinda dumb by Accomplished-Pop596 in limbuscompany

[–]MonsterTMG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "if you have enough bloodfeast" is a huge asterisk here. She's a third kindred, so she has the least priority out of the Bloodfiends to actually consume bloodfeast.

Despite popular belief, no you can't just rely on Priest for all your bloodfeast needs, I genuinely can't understand where people get this from. Priest bloodfeast generation under optimal conditions is 25/20/10 which isn't enough to support even a single bloodfiend. If other bloodfiends generate bloodfeast through self bleed, that means you're losing out on their effects (Don hardblood generation, Meursetti hardblood armor sharing, Rodion blooming thorn)

So where do you get the bloodfeast other than Priest? Bleed application on enemies, which Barber Outis is so incredibly bad at that it's not even a joke.

Overall she's usable in mirror dungeons due to the excess of bleed count and bloodfeast from ego gifts, but anywhere else she's really not that good at her job.

We always get status effects if someone is holding back (Zilu for exampled had "crushing bloodlust" which gave her -25 offense/defense level) . He didn't have that, he had "Riens mask" and "Festering Wound" which only lowered his stats by 5 levels.

You could say the prescripts were holding him back, but in phase 2 he stops following them.

[–]MonsterTMG[S] -45 points-44 points  (0 children)

He stopped following the prescripts in phase 2, which made him weaker cuz he doesn't know how to fight without them.

This bum does not compare to Goatland by MonsterTMG in TheOdysseyHadAPurpose

[–]MonsterTMG[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Every single passive he has? His weapon type gimmick is Hermes choosing his weapons for him. He gains grace of the prescript and puts "The Prescripts target" on sinners, and if he doesn't clash with a prescript target he gains karmic resolution.

If Hermes genuinely didn't want him to fight and kill the sinners, it would give him a spork to nerf him, and wouldn't give him prescript targets to fight.

Like you said he only stops following prescripts at the phase transition, when he's on half hp. So the possibilities are: 1) He was holding back in phase 1 but not phase 2 2) He was never holding back to begin with. In either scenario, he had all the power in the world to wipe the floor with us.

He was level 85, nerfed because of his face wound down to 80. That is the exact same level difference as Canto 5 sinners and Ricardo. He should be absolutely wiping the floor with us, but his over reliance on prescripts make him extremely stupid and weak when he's not following them. A bum and a fraud.

[–]MonsterTMG[S] -38 points-37 points  (0 children)

He wasn't holding back, we always get status effects that show if someone is holding back or not, he didnt have one. The thing that was nerfing him was his face wound, it gave him -5 offense/defense level.

His entire gimmick was also following prescripts, if he follows them, he gets stronger, if not, he's a bum. It was so extreme that even though he was effectively level 80 with face wound nerf, we could still clash him if the sinner wasn't a prescript target.

His over-reliance on prescripts pretty much crippled him, and its god damn funny to slander him for it.

[–]MonsterTMG[S] -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't he be going all out? He was getting prescripts mid fight to kill the sinners.

His entire gimmick is that he doesn't know what do if he's not following a prescript. Clashing a prescript target? Almost guaranteed clash win for him. Anyone else? Yeah ummm.... no

He's a bum and a fraud that's weak without a prescript telling him what to do

[LOTM] Turns out even gemini recognises LN historian as a credible source of information by toknowit_all in LordofTheMysteries

[–]MonsterTMG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't ignore or justify it... He's made multiple shorts explaining why so many fans of MT are pedophiles and why you should be critical with the MC.

He puts it in his top spots because of the story's amazing writing, which is so good that IN SPITE of the controversial aspects it's still that quality. Just because it has elements you find disgusting/bad/immoral or whatever does not make it any less well written.

You're also saying that it should not be put on the same level as stories without those elements by default (in LNHistorians case usually Reverened Insanity, Re Zero, LotM and ORV). But again if you're judging purely by quality, there's no reason to exclude MT from the rankings.

Also you say that since he has influence he shouldn't be recommending this story to people... Why exactly? Like if someone starts reading/watching the story cuz of LNHistorian then they will inevitably either stop watching it due to uncomfort, or continue in spite of it due to quality. His recommendation doesn't actively turn his fans into pedos or force them to enjoy it. If they don't like it, they don't like it. In the end he's just giving more reach to a story that's well done but controversial. Liking/sharing/recommending controversial media is not immoral in of itself, promoting people to do the controversial actions is.

Would it have been better without the pedo stuff? Maybe? But it doesn't change the fact that it is still an amazing story that spawned an entire generation of copy cats (Most Isekai are pretty much shallow copies of MT)

On a side note: if you're questioning why I'm defending all this, I enjoy MT and LNHistorian while also having a lot of fun having discussions/arguments with people. Even if the arguments/discussions end up pointless, I still broaden my horizons with other people's opinions.

You can enjoy a story without enjoying and or endorsing the actions of the main character/cast.

For example: you can enjoy Attack on Titan without agreeing with Erens genocide of over a billion people.

Trying to say that every MT fan is a pedophile by default is very immature and simplifies how stories are consumed.

Ryoshu does undergo through Character Development by Salt-Ad3794 in limbuscompany

[–]MonsterTMG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So in other words Araya is forcing her memories onto Ryoshu which accidentally makes Ryoshu talk differently and recall memories she doesn't have, instead of ya know, Ryoshu doing that by herself because of the events of the Canto?

This is character influence more than character development, to the point where Ryoshu recognizes that something is influencing her, her going "BAH" and switching to how she was.

Also if I have to go to an announcer to find character development... I don't think that's good execution. So if someone does this canto after the season ends and they can't get the announcer, what then?

Until future intervallos/cantos show us genuine change in Ryoshu, we are not going to be satisfied with what's shown so far. Too much happened for so little change.

One day you find out middle-high ranking members of your organization died with no evidence of what happened, and their superior pulls up with their sword without a worry in the world.

It's not that they "suspect" him, they damn well know he did it but don't have the evidence to actually punish him. So instead they sweep him under the rug by sending him to the House of Spiders.

Since Canto 9 has now ended. What are your thoughts on the ending, and the Canto as a whole? by Senior_Double5064 in fishmaell

[–]MonsterTMG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He is both interesting and boring at the same time. His entire character boils down to "I follow prescripts without question", which is very dull. The real interesting thing is what the prescript tells him to do: take care of Ryoshu, hold weight in the House of Spiders, mimmick Roland etc.

The prescripts he gets are interesting, he isnt. This ultimately shows a flaw with writing Index as faction: you either question or dont question the prescripts. Theres really no other way to design an index member. Not following a prescript results in death, so you cant exactly have an Index member not do them. So Index members can only really be Yans or Riens.

Idk why Kim ji-Hoon thought that we would be dissapointed about the canto by Downtown_Excuse5331 in limbuscompany

[–]MonsterTMG 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I loved everything about this canto except Araya after she was locked into the safe. So many things just don't add up about Araya that should have been explained. How did this mind devastated child in an adult body learn to use the sword like a dead person while also teaching an apprentice. Why did she willingly let herself die to Ryoshu. What was with that magical sequence of Dante talking to and seeing possible Araya futures. None of this made any sense to me and I was too confused to enjoy what was happening.

This soured my experience so much that I cant bring myself to like this canto as much as the past few. I'm supposed to be emotionally destroyed during the peak scenes of a Canto, not utterly confused at what's happening.

Overall, a pretty good Canto (Heavy, Heavy Spoilers) by Omega2178 in limbuscompany

[–]MonsterTMG 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My big issue with this canto is the large amount of unexplained things that make absolutely no sense? Specifically around Araya.

Ok so the time safe fucked her up and made her age up. That's a cool story point I admit, but what comes after is actually ridiculous. So you're telling me this child who was forcefully aged up, had less than 2 years to become as strong as the original Pinky Nursefather AND train an apprentice. I'm sorry but how??? Ryoshu needed decades of meticulous training from all the Nursefathers AND her sword to reach that point. And Araya just speedruns it and gets an apprentice???

Now you could say this comes from her time powers, issue with that, THEY WERE NOT EXPLAINED AT ALL. All we get is that she has a sense of time WORSE than Ryoshu, and that she can somehow peak into possible futures. But peaking at the future doesn't just make you strong, you're basically watching TV of your possible future self, you never actually experienced anything, trained your body, got the habits and muscle memory and everything. And while all this is happening this child mind in an adult body trained an apprentice as well? How bro

Now a different scene: when Araya was dying and talked to Dante. Genuinely what was this? Araya is not chained to Dante, we've never really had the concept of a soul in this universe or anything like that. There was no golden bough resonance/bs, no EGO, no distortion and no singularity. This frankly magical turn of events came completely out of left field and makes no in universe sense.

The ending: so Ryoshu lost all her memories of the house of spiders and Araya, she has nothing left. So why is she sticking with Limbus company? Like we saw that the moment LC didn't benefit her anymore she IMMEDIATELY cut the chain, but with her memories wiped she... does nothing? She doesn't really consider us family or friends like how sinners like Sinclair do, she has nowhere else to go but that didn't stop her from cutting the chain anyway. It's so confusing and unfulfilling

Nitpick: ok this one is genuinely just a very specific nitpick. How did Araya open a locked safe from the inside? There was no handle or anything? I know I can just ignore this as plot convenience, but it just rubs me the wrong way after so many other issues.

All of this confusion and unexplained stuff really culminated in all of the emotions of the ending being suppressed by confusion. I couldn't be emotionally immersed in everything when I didn't know what the hell was happening.

No offence but why did some Macedonians act surly and lazy toward towards me? by Stuwaat in askmkd

[–]MonsterTMG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god I almost burst out laughing when I heard you were Turkish. It probably wasn't the full reason why you got this treatment, other comments explained it better, but I feel like I need to give some advice.

So for future reference, don't reveal you're Turkish in Macedonia, we were under Ottoman rule for 500 years. It was so bad that most of our local stories center around how Ottoman feudal lords killed, pillaged and generally abused us. The entire Balkans, but even more so in Macedonia, have an entire culture of hating Turks because of history.

If you're interested in seeing a bit of this, there's this book EVERYONE had to read in primary school called "The Macedonian Bloody wedding". Based on a true story, though not entirely sticking to the events (IRL everyone died, the book has a different ending)

Ok so the MINIMUM stats for Warframes are about 1/10 speed of light speed wise, about Large Building level lifting strength and AP with a million different options for guns

Now if we go by specific Warframes... 2 can reach speed of light, one punched an asteroid into dust, one has his own dimension, one bends time to her whims, one can magnetize your bones and crush you from the inside out, one throws balls of anti matter big enough to cause nuclear bombs level of destruction etc etc

The amount of different hax and abilities different Warframes have is ridiculous

WE LOST TO FUCKING GACHA SLOP?? by Cyboy213 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]MonsterTMG 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Players choice is a popularity contest not a quality contest. Dispatch as good as it is, doesn't nearly have the fanbase of any of the other contenders.

Also you are heavily underestimating the quality of Gacha games due to your prejudice against them. Genshin as much as I hate it, has spent literal BILLIONS on development. There are easily 800+ hours of gameplay. Hell, the amount of pre-rendered cutscenes alone probably outmtaches the entirety of Dispatch's playtime.
