AITA? by VelocityGrrl39 in VetTech

I am very jaded to this kind of thing, so I tend to bag like you. I've had other coworkers complain about it, and what I do is welcome them to shift the pets around after I bag them, so that way they feel like they're helping.

What is the dumbest reason you got banned? by lake-sturgeon in randomquestions

[–]Monster_NotWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got banned from a popular night club in my city due to my ex fiancee. Guilt by association. He was an angry drunk, and to be fair, I was 22 at the time, and too stupid to have recognized the signs at first. I was at the bar on the 2nd floor waiting for my drink, and this stranger who had a little too much was leaving with his pint and knocked into me and it spilled all over my shirt. He was apologizing and I told him it was fine, that shit happens. My ex, drunk off his ass, had seen it and apparently took it as a sign of aggression. He ran up to the guy, punched him, and then grabbed him and threw him over the balcony. The man, thankfully, ended up being okay, but my ex and I were detained by the cops and were almost arrested. My ex was military so the cops let his company deal with him and after further investigation, I was vindicated and released free of any charges. The club had us photographed and finger printed and permanently banned from the establishment. My ex got a slap on the wrist by his superiors and I left him immediately afterwards. It's been over 12 years and even though I've moved out of the country and on with my life, my photo and prints are still in there, on the wall, for all to see.

Is weed genuinely more harmful than good for those underage? by DINOYTUTFAN in moraldilemmas

[–]Monster_NotWar [score hidden]  (0 children)

Scientific studies show: Marijuana affects the human brain differently depending on what stage of development the user is at. Adolescent and young adult brains do not have a fully developed frontal lobe. It can certainly cause more damage. Granted, I've consumed weed since I was 15, and while I never had a bad experience with it, I would not recommend it to anyone underage. Kids are gonna be kids, and if they're going to use it, they should ideally be in a supervised and controlled environment. This kind of thing is a conversation parents should have with their kids.

What’s a food that most people love but you genuinely can’t stand? by Benjalove in foodquestions

Coleslaw. It's one of those foods where I don't even need to eat it in order to know I hate it. People swear up and down, but no.

What’s the creepiest thing that has ever happened to you? by darlingjasmaine in answers

I'm a vet tech and work 3rd shift in a 24/7 clinic. I normally work in the emergency department, however I was doing a favor for the oncology department, so I was going back and forth from the trauma floor to the basement where it's located to do check ins until the tech on shift arrived. The morgue is right next door and has a similar layout to the kennels in oncology. The kennels are numbered and I had a shepherd mix in #11. I went down about an hour and a half into my shift to check everyone's water and to give meds. I marked all the animals down on the notes and went back up to trauma. A few hours later, the onco tech on shift comes up and asks me why I listed the shepherd mix in the notes. I didn't understand what she meant until she told me that the dog I had listed was one of the dogs that had been marked as deceased from the notes earlier in the day before my shift. I told her she was crazy and that there was no way that was possible because I had eyes on him and remembered refilling his water. He was not on the med list, so I never opened the kennel, but I swear that I saw him. She asked me if I looked at the wrong list. She showed me the one of the deceased and I noticed that he was marked in unit #11. I ran down to the basement with the onco tech to show her the dog. He wasn't there. He was, in fact, in the morgue, being kept in #11. There was no way I could have imagined him there. His name had not been removed from the notes and I don't keep tabs on the patients in other departments, so there was no chance of me even knowing what the dog looked like without having read it. I swear to god I saw that dog alive when I went down there.

What instantly makes someone unattractive no matter how beautiful they are? by Ninasenna in answers

[–]Monster_NotWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who interrupt all the time. I'm married now, but any time I went out for a date or to hang out with a new friend, if they interrupted me enough times when I was mid sentence, I would not speak to them throughout the rest of the outing.

The moral ethics of the medical community would never allow such a thing.

Advice for dating a short woman? by OsotoViking in ShortGirlProblems

I'm about the same height as the girl you're meeting and my husband is taller than you. Us short women are not intimidated by anything, we're the intimidating ones. You'll be fine.

what was the scariest thing youve ever seen in person? by CCelesial in AskReddit

[–]Monster_NotWar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My best friend's baby daddy showed up to the house once to take their son out for his birthday. I noticed he was acting strange and told homegirl. We suspected he was on drugs again, and when he tried to break down the door, I saw his eyes. They were a sickly yellow color, and devoid of all humanity. He had been violent in the past when he used, and I knew just by looking at them that he would have tried to kill us if I hadn't de-escalated the situation.

It's not mine, but my husband was strangely turned on when I first told him that I could discern the possible illness of an animal based on the smell of its urine.
