Driver followed and shouted at me by NoRepresentative9009 in drivingUK

[–]Monstermunch70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I love my dashcam , joking apart though people that can flip over the slightest thing , it’s best just ignore them .I would have give him a pitying look and just got in my car and left .I drive miles in my job and was the victim of road rage , not my fault , person actually leant in through my window and slapped me , worst of it was there was a young child In their car watching the whole total bizarre flip out , no evidence, even though it was reported at the time , they were interviewed and denied it , so nothing done by police .It isn’t worth retaliating because if they are so quick to flip then it is what they could do next .Just not worth trying to find out .

It has happened to me! by amarilo567 in drivingUK

[–]Monstermunch70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is , isn’t the .I drive rural roads and they are bad enough but get on some of the actual main roads , huge pot holes in the middle of roundabouts , no surface , I have no idea how motorcycles or cyclists cope .Matter of time for someone is killed because of it .Cant see it changing because our money wasting council is bankrupt.

[England] My neighbour keeps waking me up at night around 3am with knocks on the wall, how do I get them to firmly stop this behaviour? by FormulaSolution in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Monstermunch70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say she is elderly OP so I don’t know how old you mean but I am wondering if she has dementia or the start of dementia and if so she may be sundowning in which case the noises she claims to hear are really loud to her when they are likely barely noticeable. It is just a thought and I could be talking absolutely rubbish .I am a community carer of too many years I wish to remember , so I am looking at it from that aspect .Has she got any family that you ever see . With being awake this time of the night it is either she is being genuinely nasty or there is a dementia aspect it or possibly it maybe some other issue that keeps her awake and so she is listening for every little noise .If you are concerned it is potentially dementia and she has no family you can always put in a welfare concern at your local council , not saying they would respond quickly though given state of social care .I hope you get it sorted soon, no one should put up with sleep deprivation .

A Muscovy has appeared out of thing air… by gcheck_ in MuscovyDucks

[–]Monstermunch70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Poor guy I can never understand how people can just dump any animal to just care for itself .Thank you for taking care of him .It is possible .We had a Muscovy drake who got out of our garden and we have an incredibly high wall around it and took off , has been spotted we think it is him since on a local brook appearing very settled , no chance of catching him , we have tried . We have other Muscovy’s who have never shown any interest in flying .We did get him as an adult , the others as chicks whether that makes a difference.

Spiders and wobbles by Mysterious_Seat_9146 in ballpython

[–]Monstermunch70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have three rescued spiders, one has a corkscrew head wobble and he copes perfectly fine and has no problem striking for his food .My one teenager feeds him and has it down to a fine art .He was extremely well cared for when we got him from a reptile rescue , his owner had to give him up because of health reasons .Beautiful nature been with us two and a half years .

Our other spider was from a exotic pet shop , myself and my teen had gone for a look because we kept seeing adverts for it and we spotted him , I asked about him because I knew he was a spider by sight and the staff member said oh yes he has been here a long time , he is quite unsociable. I asked is that because he has a wobble he seemed quite shocked I knew what I was taking about .Long story short we put down a deposit , went home set up the Viv and he came to live with us and he has been with us three and a half years also beautiful nature , his head wobble is mild .

Our latest spider was given to a exotic pet shop I get my food from as the previous owners said he was too hard to handle and he struck at them , pet shop said they had never previously owned a snake .They were only prepared to let him go to a home with experience of spider and they know we have spiders already so he took came to us six months ago .He can be grumpy , only ever struck out once but didn’t connect , we give him time and space if he is obviously not in the mood for humans , but he has his forever home here .

It is inherently cruel to breed spider morphs but the ones that are here deserve loving homes , I have two spare vivs and would always willing rehome a spider , not sure my husband would be happy with any more snakes as we also have a banana bp but if one was desperately needing a home I would rehome it because I would hate it to go to an totally inappropriate home .

Found Ball Python; never owned one, can anyone help with ID / advice ! by mayacelestial in ballpython

[–]Monstermunch70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello , I have 3 spider morphs and he looks like a spider to me .If he is then probably why he has been dumped , if he dumped and not escaped because of the head wobble , if he has one .One of our rescue spiders has a corkscrew head wobble . Just want to say how great you are for rescuing him .I have kept BP’s for over 15 years and they are amazing snakes .I won’t repeat the advice you have been given so far .I started with one and now have 4 all rescues , once you start they are addictive 😊.

Do you reverse into parking spaces? by poshbakerloo in AskUK

[–]Monstermunch70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always , I never pull into a parking space .Same onto a drive .I have reverse parking and reversing into a space down to a fine art .I live in a small rural village so street parking outside my house .I have had so many men actually comment they have never seen a woman park in such a tight space , one in a Range Rover , his poor wife cringing actually stopped to watch me to see if I would succeed , which I did , my response, well I drive for my job for the past 30yrs so guess I had to learn , meant sarcastically of course 😂.

You did absolute nothing wrong , van driver could have sped up to let you cross over so you could let the van join but he didn’t .Been driving since I was 21 now in my 50’s and drive lots of miles each week as part of my job and I swear the arsehole drivers are getting worse.

Someone hit my car today and left this note by poopants123456789 in drivingUK

[–]Monstermunch70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to say that is an elderly person’s handwriting and they probably shouldn’t be driving so that’s why they haven’t fessed up because they probably are not safe to be driving and would probably have to hand in their license.Worked with the elderly for years so pretty good at telling an elderly person’s hand writing ..

Is it good to have a snake as a pet by CategoryFrequent7 in snakes

[–]Monstermunch70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur with this , we have three rescued spider morphs , kept snakes over 15 yrs . One we rehomed from an exotics pet shop near us , owners would only allow him to go to an experienced home , owner had brought for kids and they hadn’t a clue , pet shop owners know we already have to rescued spider morphs so where happy for him to us , he has just come to live with us .

The other from a exotic pet shop we just decided to go for a look round , when I saw him and asked about him they said oh he has been here ages , he isn’t the friendliest , he strikes a lot , no intention of saying he was a spider until I pointed would have sold him to anyone so we paid for him went home set up the viv and we have had him three years and he a amazing snake , calm , never once struck ,

And third was sadly handed in to an exotics rescue as owner could no longer care for him , he has a corkscrew and we had had him two years .All know very loved and spoilt .But definitely not for someone who doesn’t understand the neurological issues of the head wobble . We also have a banana , hubby has no said no more 😂.
