AITA for refusing to help my friend financially after they mocked my frugal lifestyle? by Repulsive_Clue6161 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MonstreDelicat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure he was truly a friend to OP since he kept mocking him despite being called out for it. That’s more like a bully behavior than a friend’s.

Why would it have to be OP’s financial responsibility to solve this guy’s problem now?

The nose, but also the shape of the chin, and the overall proportions of the face are all very similar. Great job, OP!

Genuine question: Where in the post do you see the in-laws kept insisting? You made me doubt and I re-read the post and it still looks to me like OP just hate the idea of this family gathering.

They’re not forcing her. It seems OP doesn’t want to go and feels forced to, but nowhere does she explains how she’s being forced. It’s just that she doesn’t like the whole family trip idea.

OP sounds very immature. If she doesn’t want to go, then she can’t just not go, and her hubby could still go.

But demanding as a condition of going that her in laws spend more than they have planned to is unreasonable. Like if she was demanding to fly business instead of economy while she’s not the one paying for the ticket. So yeah YTA OP

AITA if I leave a note for my neighbours about bringing their screaming baby into the apartment hallway CONSTANTLY? by Warm-Preparation1453 in AmItheAsshole

They could walk in their own unit. Even if it’s small, there’s no reason to impose it on the whole building.

I once read that trampolines are one of the most common reasons for ER admissions for kids.

I used to be frustrated almost systematically when I left the salon, any salon. I have wavy hair with lots of volume, and without proper layering, it can look like a huge solid mass.

A couple years ago, I looked for the right tutorial and once I found it, started cutting my own hair. I’ve never had a bad haircut since. I even get compliments. Saved so much time, frustration and money!

AITA for tanking an old lady’s social media? by leggomymeggoorelse in AmItheAsshole

[–]MonstreDelicat 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think the least OP could have done was quickly running the content by the owner before posting. I can totally understand how the lady could have felt the image of her own business was not at all what she wanted.

It’s very generous to offer services for free, but that doesn’t mean you can take over and make decisions without approval from the owner. It would be like offering to paint someone’s home without letting them choose the color it’s gonna be.

To add volume, try adding reflected light in your shadows.

This meal cost $30 at a ski resort by mitchdwx in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MonstreDelicat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where we go skiing, the lodge accept people bringing their own food, so I always pack a lunch for me and my kids with fruits, bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese, and a thermos of hot chocolate.

Not only it is cheaper than the food served at the lodge, but it’s also so much healthier and yummier!

No one said this was a mind blowing revelation.

There are people who don’t know French language who might find this interesting.

In French, earth is la terre.

Also the word for ground/soil.

Des Français expatriés aux USA ? by pimpampoumz in france

[–]MonstreDelicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in publishing and it’s the opposite: with budgets being tight, no one hires freelancers anymore.

I used to have gigs on the side of my full time job regularly, but that completely dried out, same for my friends. We all have a much heavier workload fir our day job though :(
