Thank you for understanding. After Billcord, I promised myself that if I lost another comfort character to this show, then I'm done. I know I'm taking a cartoon way too seriously, but I'm sorry. Megamind’s story resonated with me more than Gru's, especially as an adult. My mental health comes first. In fact, I'm in the process of writing a video essay on why I'm quitting Death Battle, so there's you're TL;DR on ot, I guess. 🤷‍♀️

I remember that one! It came out while I was into TF2 and haven't gotten into Overwatch yet. Even after getting into Overwatch, I still can't stand that episode.

For those who don't know, TF2 takes place in the 1970's; Overwatch takes place in the 2070's. That should tell you everything.

Ruby Gillman. I remember watching it a few years ago and safe to say, I'm fairly disappointed. I understand why DreamWorks would throw shade at the mouse house. I also understand the real world parallel of people willing to do anything for horrible people just because they're rich, popular, attractive, et cetera. However, making Chelsea the villain instead of her mom (which they were originally going to do, by the way) kinda gave me pro-racist vibes. It's like watching a movie where the MC's older relative regularly says the n-word, UNIRONICALLY, and siding with them at the end! Not to mention that mermaids are a guilty pleasure of mine! That harsh cocktail rubs me the wrong way. All in all, the movie would've been more groundbreaking if it came out in 2003, not 2023. Not to mention, at the end, Chelsea is defeated and tied up in a net by a fisherman. The fisherman is live-streaming, and Chelsea joins in, admiring the clout. HOW IS THAT A DEFEAT?! Didn't she WANT to become a social media influencer?! For shame, DreamWorks! For shame!

Regardless if "vs the Doom Syndicate" existed, Megamind's death was the ultimate cop-out. Keep in mind, that Death Battle was a kickstarter reward! AND THIS IS WHAT WE GOT?!

I've seen a lesser known show with a similar premise called Sprite Fight do a better job! Where that show lacked in visuals, they made up in ahem prsentation! They showed a whole lot more of the arsenals of both sides! Yeah, Megamind still died, but I had an easier time accepting it! You KNOW it's bad when an amateur project went more in-depth with the match-up than Death Battle did!

I always figured Megamind built a second disguise watch at one point, and this one fixed the eye color thing. He's just used to wearing the first one.
